Rapid warming of Indian Ocean will lead to flooding : IPCC

 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recently published its sixth assessment report (AR6) titled “Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis”. IPCC confirmed in its report that the Indian Ocean is warming at a higher rate. This will result in a rise in the sea levels causing more frequent and severe coastal flooding across low-lying areas.

Iceberg near Antarctica splits !

A huge iceberg, almost the size of Spain’s Majorka island has split from Antarctica. It is reported to be the largest split piece of an iceberg in the world until now.

After ‘black fungus’, ‘white fungus’ hits India !

Fresh cases of white fungus infection were reported amidst rising cases of black fungus infection (Mucormycosis) in India. Four Covid-19 patients admitted at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) were found to be infected with white fungus as well.

After ‘Tauktae’ now ‘Yaas’ cyclone to hit !

Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has warned of ‘Yaas’ cyclone after a trail of destruction by ‘Tauktae’. The Yass cyclone would hit eastern sea coast of India, mostly affecting Bengal and Orissa States. The cyclone may hit Bengal on 25th May and Orissa by 26th May.
