New Delhi – Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recently published its sixth assessment report (AR6) titled “Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis”. IPCC confirmed in its report that the Indian Ocean is warming at a higher rate. This will result in a rise in the sea levels causing more frequent and severe coastal flooding across low-lying areas.

The report was about the adverse effects of global warming. The report highlights that the world will witness extreme weather events in the coming decades like a rise in the sea level, frequent flooding, heat waves, heavy rainfall in some parts and drought in some parts closer to that area.
