‘Sage Kanva and His wife were unable to conceive a child and therefore they took care of Shakuntala and brought her up. Shakuntala, a daughter of Sage Vishwamitra and Menaka, spent her entire childhood and youth in Sage Kanva’s Ashram. The animals and birds dwelling in the vicinity of the Ashram in the forest as well as trees and creepers used to converse with Shakuntala. Deer, peacocks, crow pheasants and swans used to come close to her, and Shakuntala would caress them with love. While playing with Shakuntala, deer used to hold one end of her saree in its mouth and pull her gently or at times they used to jump with joy after seeing her. Peacocks used to spread their feathers and dance, while the cuckoo sang melodiously at her sight. Since Shakuntala was an evolved soul from the higher region of heaven, the animals and birds, trees and creepers used to get attracted towards her due to the sattvik and fragrant environment around her as well as due to her divine qualities such as her spiritual emotion, spiritual love and purity of mind. The scene observed in the Ashrams of the Sages in Satya, Treta and Dwapar era is also being experienced in the context of Sanatan’s Ashrams, Saints and seekers in the Kaliyug. Below are some of the examples of this.
As if sitting in the comfort of a nest, the chick of Malechite Kingfisher sitting peacefully on the lap of a Saint and in the cusp of His hands !

On 14.9.2014, a chick of Malechite Kingfisher had fallen in one of the corners of the Ashram and it was unable to fly. Therefore, it was brought inside the Ashram by the seekers. At that time a Saint picked it up in His hands. The bird was sitting peacefully in His hands as if it was under the comfort of its mother’s wings. It sat on the Saint’s lap and then in the cusp of His hands as if it was resting in a nest, for about 10-15 minutes. Later when the seekers took it into their hands, it was biting them by its beak. After a few minutes it flew away.
The peacock which used to visit Mulki Ashram every morning and leave only after being fed by Saint and seekers !

Since 2013, a peacock has been coming near Mulki Ashram every morning. It arrives around breakfast time. It eats the food offered by the Saints and the seekers and then goes back. After a few days, its frequency of coming to the Ashram increased. It started visiting the Ashram in the morning as well as the evening during the snacks time. Sometimes it stays back even after eating the food. If it did so, we would understand that its stomach isn’t full yet. Once we feed it again, it would then return to the forest after its stomach is full.
Initially when the peacock came to the Ashram, we had to keep the food at a long distance for it to consume. Now it eats the food by picking it up from our hands and even walks fearlessly in the Ashram premises. If the peacock is away from the Ashram and is called upon, it does come to the Ashram. Its feathers are quite longer than other peacocks. It feels that this peacock is different from other peacocks. Now, one more peacock accompanies this peacock to the Ashram.
Arrival of Malechite Kingfisher bird during the guidance session of Sadguru Charudatta Pingale !
On 5.7.2015, a guidance session by Sadguru Dr. Charudatta Pingale for the seekers from Sangli district was organized at the residence of seeker Shri. Girish Pujari at Miraj. At the start of the session, a Malechite Kingfisher bird came and sat down in the staircase of Shri. Pujari’s residence. The bird was sitting still during the entire session. Arrival of such bird is considered auspicious.
The sparrows visiting the residence of Mrs. Pratima Thakkar, with spiritual level of 61%, in Goa, and eating grains from her hands only
When Mrs. Pratima Thakkar, mother of seeker Shri. Arvind Thakkar of Madgaon, sits on the swing in her house, 15 to 20 sparrows flock near her and they eat only from her hands. If anyone else residing in the house try to feed the sparrows, they fly away without eating.
Arrival of various varieties of birds on the window grill and inside the residence of Dr. Sanjay Samant after commencing spiritual practice

Eagle coming closer when devotional songs sung by Saints are played and it flies away when western music is played

Not just in India but even in abroad similar experience was encountered. On 7.7.2015, seeker Shri. Sean Clarke visited a zoo in Australia. In one of the cages, four eagles were kept. When Shri. Sean played devotional songs sung by Saints, the eagles started coming closer to him.
When he played western music, the eagles flew away and thereafter playing devotional songs they again came closer to him.
In Sanatan’s Ramnathi Ashram, a bird coming in and sitting on the divine footwear of H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj and then later flying away on its own

On 26.12.2020 at 4.50 pm, an orange headed Thrush was sitting on the divine footwear used by H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj kept in Sanatan’s Ramnathi Ashram and it was staring at the photo of H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj. A photograph of the bird was taken while it was sitting in the meditation room of the Ashram, even then it did not move even a bit from its place. After 30 mins, the bird flew away by itself. This has been experienced with other birds and flies too.
Spiritual and scientific reasoning behind birds getting attracted towards sattvik environment, seekers and Saints
Birds have their own unique characteristics. Amongst all living beings, humans are the most intelligent. Even if this is the case, the subtle sense organs and subtle motor organs of plants, animals and birds are much more active than the humans and therefore they are more alert. There are many such examples in the history.
Birds too have subtle vision. The infrared and ultraviolet rays in their eyes assist them in seeing the distressing energies even in the pitch darkness of the night.
With their ability to perceive subtle, they get attracted towards sattvik plants, people and sattvik environments. Most of the human beings born in Kaliyug have originated from Nether region or Patal (Hell region). Therefore, the environment around these Raja-Tama predominant human beings is also Raja-Tama oriented. On the contrary, the environment around the souls that perform spiritual practice becomes Sattva predominant due to their spiritual practice. Hence, animals and birds get attracted towards seekers, Saints and the sattvik environment.
By nature, the animals and birds are vulnerable and therefore they find various ways to protect themselves from other animals; however, since they have a guarantee of their protection in the company of seekers and Saints, birds get attracted towards seekers and stay in their company for long periods of time without any worry.
In the presence of Sattvikata, every being feels at home. The sattvik vibrations of seekers and Saints create a harmony that draws even the simplest forms of life towards the Ashram. Their presence transforms the surroundings into a sanctuary of bliss.
A request untothose conducting scientific research !
Many unfathomable events are taking place at Sanatan’s Ashrams and at the residences of Saints and seekers. It has been observed that various birds get attracted to the seekers and Saints in the Ashram, stay at one place for a long time and happily get fed at the hands of seekers and Saints.
‘When do birds perform such acts? Could there be any scientific reasons behind their acts? To whom these birds get attracted and why? What is the scientific reason for this? Which scientific equipment can be used to research around this subject?’ We would be grateful if we get assistance from those who can perform research on the above questions in scientific manner.
