With a spiritual emotion of gratitude
ego of a seeker does not get inflated and finally
makes it easier to attain an egoless state (Final Liberation)

‘With a spiritual emotion of gratitude the ego of a seeker does not get inflated for any reason. In this state of spiritual emotion a seeker gives all credit to the Guru or God and does not develop an emotion of doership. The lesser the feeling of doership the more it assists in lowering the ego. Hence no matter how much spiritual progress you make never give up gratitude unto the Guru. This not only helps in reducing the ego but also helps to attain an egoless state. An egoless state itself means Final Liberation. Hence various Saints write articles, devotional songs (abhang) and other poetry referring to their Guru. As a result those reading it feel more about the greatness of the Gurus of these Saints than the Saints Themselves and feel gratitude unto Them.’ – Miss Madhura Bhosale, 25.9.2005)

The more the spiritual emotion of gratitude the user has for an
object the more charged with Divine Consciousness the object gets

‘The greater the spiritual emotion of gratitude an individual has for the object he uses the more charged with Divine Consciousness the object gets, merges with the Principle of Shrikrushna and gets moulded into a seeker.’ – Mrs. Smita Joshi, 15.1.2007)

What is gratitude ?

A.’You pray unto God and then thank Him for helping you. Here becoming aware ‘dnyan’ (dnya) that God got the action kruti (krut) performed by you is gratitude (krutadnya)’. In short gratitude is true awareness about doership. Krut means the truth, rather God, and the awareness that your wish was fulfilled because of a prayer made unto Him is ‘krutadnya’. -Mr. Sandeep Narendra Vaity, Mumbai

B.’Faith itself is a spiritual emotion of gratitude and so are effects of unexpressed spiritual emotion.’ – A Scholar (Sadguru (Mrs.) Anjali Gadgil also writes under the pseudonym of ‘a scholar’, 16.2.2006.)

Remaining in a spiritual emotion of gratitude
prevents depression, keeps the mind
happy and helps in performing better spiritual practice

‘Some seekers compare the virtues or progress of other seekers with themselves and then feel that they are lagging behind others and feel dejected just like those who feel dejected envying those receiving higher salaries than them. On the contrary if one earning 10000 rupees thinks he is happier than the jobless one and the one earning 50000 thinks he is better than the one earning 10000 then that unhappiness transforms into happiness. Seekers do not realise that God has given them a human birth, has generated love for spiritual practice in them, they are receiving guidance in spiritual practice and are making spiritual progress. If you recollect this then you will become aware of how fortunate you are in comparison with majority of people on the earth and will harbour a spiritual emotion of gratitude for God constantly. Remembering defects and taking autosuggestions to overcome them during autosuggestion sessions is appropriate. Rest of the day chant with spiritual emotion or remain in a spiritual emotion of gratitude. As ‘there is God where there is spiritual emotion’the mind feels happy by doing this.

From my example you will realise how you can perform seva by remaining in a spiritual emotion of gratitude and how you remain happy. Formerly I would travel everywhere to conduct satsang (Holy meetings), workshops, public meetings etc. Now I cannot travel but if I recollect all the missions that God got done from me I am able to remain happy out of a spiritual emotion of gratitude and am able to happily perform seva of writing Holy texts day and night.’

O seekers, to make spiritual progress remain in a spiritual emotion of gratitude !

‘Though seekers are unable to make spiritual progress, unable to overcome personality defects and ego they are told to make efforts for awakening of spiritual emotion and that evoking of spiritual emotion removes several obstacles in spiritual practice and brings about progress,.They are advised to make efforts as given in the Holy text ‘Spiritual practice to awaken spiritual emotion’. Many are unable to do even this. If such seekers make the efforts described further then it will help to evoke spiritual emotion.

‘Realising that you cannot live alone, by recollecting the nurture and love received from the family, help received from others, gift of life from God etc. and such examples in day-to-day life spiritual emotion of gratitude starts developing within 5 to 6 weeks and it grows. This helpsin making spiritual progress.’
