If we consider the example of western Medical science, we will realise that initially there were limited medicines on various ailments. As science made progress, the number of medicines increased a lot. In a similar manner there are many Deities in the absolute Hindu Dharma. However, in Hindu Dharma too, there is one Supreme God or Brahman.
