The true goal of human life is God-realisation. Efforts made to imbibe Divine virtues in the self for individual spiritual progress is termed ‘vyashṭi sadhana’ (Individual spiritual practice). While making efforts to imbibe virtues as per the present times, it is not enough to be satisfied with self endeavours. In Kaliyug (Era of strife) the proportion of sattvikta (Sattva-predominance) in the society has declined to a great extent, and hence, to increase the sattvikta of the society, it is necessary to get sadhana (Spiritual practice) performed by the society. This is termed ‘samashṭi sadhana’ of those who make such efforts. As per the present times, vyashṭi sadhana has 30%importance, while samashṭi sadhana has 70% importance.

1. Yearning for God-realisation leads to Vyashṭi
sadhana
, and curiosity leads to samashti sadhana

Yearning for God-realisation is necessary for a seeker; but mere yearning for God-realisation results only in vyashṭi sadhana; it does not lead to further spiritual progress. Only if yearning is supplemented with curiosity, God blesses in abundance and samashṭi sadhana takes place.

While performing samashṭi sadhana, that is, actively propagating Dharma (Righteousness) in the society, seekers may come across queries related to sadhana from the members of the society. Only if the queries are appropriately answered, will the preaching seeker win the trust of the individual asking questions, which will result in performing appropriate samashṭi sadhana. To be able to answer queries, study of the subject is essential and for that, one needs to have curiosity.

2. Yearning of a seeker should become
complementary to the samashti (Society) mission

When yearning of a seeker becomes complementary to the samashti mission, God Himself performs the mission for the sake of that seeker. The karyakaranbhav (Cause-effect relationship) underlying God’s participation in the mission is termed as God’s grace.

3. Enhancing one’s gross as well as subtle sadhana

Only if the gross body remains, sadhana is possible in Bhulok (Earth region), and only when sadhana is performed, Moksha (Final Liberation) is attained. If we assess the situation today, we find that the calamities on the Nation and Dharma are on the rise.Hence, one should be less self-centered, think more about the Nation and Dharma, and wholly dedicate oneself in their service. If seekers follow it, they will progress spiritually as mentioned ahead :

A. The individual will be entitled to attain Mukti (Liberation) when demerits of many past births will get destroyed.

B. Spiritual level of the individual will rise by 15 to 25 percent during its life-span and it will progress even beyond Sainthood.

C. Due to the samashṭi sadhana of the individual, subtle seats are automatically created for it in the Maharlok, Janalok, Tapolok and Satyalok (Higher Cosmic regions); hence, the individual will not be required to perform different sadhana in these regions.

D. Ego of the individual reduces and his so-hambhav will be awakened.

E. Continuous grace of the Guru will be showered upon the individual and it will become eligible for Moksha.

When a seeker’s individual ego reduces, he becomes wholly complementary to the samashi. Since the seeker’s personality defects also reduce noticeably, he finds it easier to imbibe extremely rare Divine virtues, which otherwise are very difficult to develop. Such a seeker leads not just the Nation, but becomes capable of leading the entire world. Bharat’s history provides examples of many such rulers, who not only protected the earth from demons, but also helped Deities in Swargalok (Heaven) to annihilate demons. Thus, bearing in mind that the flag of the Hindu Dharma has to flutter in the entire universe, one should enhance its gross and subtle sadhana accordingly.

4. Gurukrupayoga – The most superior path of sadhana

A. Gurukrupayoga introduced by His Holiness Dr. Athavale to help the seekers attain their goals, and thereby, accomplish the purpose of human life : For seekers to attain both, the vyashṭi goal of attaining Moksha as well as the samashṭi goal of establishing the Divine Kingdom, and thereby accomplish the very purpose of human life, His Holiness Dr. Athavale has introduced Gurukrupayoga – the most superior path of sadhana. According to the period, time and incidents, His Holiness Dr. Athavale implements different processes for the benefit of seekers, to enable them to make rapid spiritual progress through the medium of the Guru’s grace. Under this process, He has laid emphasis on two processes, namely, ‘Elimination of ego’ and ‘Removal of Personality Defects’, which are appropriate as per today’s times. This is precisely the reason why, His Holiness Dr. Athavale has compiled Holy texts on the subjects of ‘Elimination of ego’ and ‘Process of removal of personality defects.

5. Samashi sadhana– Definition and importance

Today, anti-Hindus and traitors to Dharma are openly denigrating Hindu Dharma, Hindu Deities, Saints, national heroes and Holy texts. Incidents of conversions of Hindus are also on the rise. Protecting the Nation and Dharma from anti-national elements and traitors to Dharma and trying to unite Hindus have very much become aspects of samashi sadhana. To be able to spread Dharma and unite Hindus, it is essential that seekers have virtues like organisational skills, leadership, expansiveness, less ego, foresight, attitude to serve, being dutiful, being principled, kshatravrutti (Warrior attitude), patriotism, pride in Dharma, unconditional love etc.

A. Samashi means all seekers who perform sadhana

Samashi means all seekers who perform sadhana. In the society, 5% seekers are not performing sadhana overtly; however, their sadhana is continuing from within.

B. Importance – Enhancing samashi sadhana is essential for unity

Mantriks (Subtle-sorcerers) have to expend only 10 percent of their energy to cause distress to the seekers who lack an attitude of working collectively. Therefore, seekers should develop this attitude in themselves, else negative energies are bound to cause immense distress to them. Seekers who lack in team spirit are self-centered and end up increasing their own ego. Since their actions hurt other seekers, their demerits increase and give-and-take account is additionally created. As a result, even if a seeker is performing sadhana, he gets affected adversely and his worldly and spiritual decline begins. At the same time, he becomes bereft of God’s grace and starts moving towards the state of an evildoer. To avoid this, increase your samashi sadhana along with vyashi sadhana.
