Divinity in the idol of Shri Ganesh consecrated during Shri Ganesh Chaturthi diminishes after the second day

‘On Bhadrapad Chaturthi (the fourth day of the bright fortnight of the Hindu lunar month Bhadrapad), Ganapati idols are made of soft clay. As per the rituals prescribed by the scriptures, the idol is supposed to be placed on the left hand, consecrated and worshiped in the name of ‘Siddhivinayak’, and then immediately immersed in the water.
