In the Muslim dominated Azerbaijan (95% Muslim population) there exists a temple of Devi Durga which is more than 300 years old. There is an oil lamp kept lit here continuously due to which this temple is also called as the ‘Temple of Fire’. Devotees have a faith that this flame represents Devi Bhagawati.
All Hindu tourists visit Shri Mahabaleshwar and Shri Panchaganaga temples, however, very few visit Shrikrushnamai temple which is located just behind Shri Mahabaleshwar temple at a short walking distance. While visiting Mahabaleshwar on an official duty, I could visit the temple and pay obeisance to Shri Krishnamai. Given further are some points I observed.
