Why should women bathe after combing their hair ?

1. Women should bathe after combing and plaiting their hair

A. Underlying science

Raja-Tama predominant waves that accumulate in the body with the combing and plaiting of hair get destroyed with a bath

Most women comb their hair after a bath to prevent it from getting disheveled. However, this is incorrect. The Raja-Tama-predominant waves that have accumulated in the body after combing and plaiting the hair get destroyed as the body gets purified with a bath. But, if we comb hair after a bath, the purity acquired is lost. This makes it obvious that man in Kaliyug looks only at the external cleanliness, that is, the beauty of the body; he has drifted from the true essence of spiritualizing life, that is, he has drifted from true achars. – A Scholar (Through the medium of Mrs. Anjali Gadgil, 29th October 2007, 9.46 a.m.)

B. Spiritual experience

By combing the hair after a bath, the chances of a covering of black energy around the face is more; while it is less when hair is combed before a bath. The pressure on the head is reduced and enthusiasm also lasts longer

Since childhood I was used to combing and plaiting my hair before a bath. However, once I joined college this habit was lost. Therefore, the black energy around my head grew. I noticed that if my hair was combed before a bath, then the black energy covering around the face was less, so also the pressure on the head. Besides, the enthusiasm lasted longer. Hence, now I have reverted to combing the hair before a bath. – Ms. Swapna (12th December 2007)

2. Do not bathe in the nude

A. Underlying science

To prevent negative energy attacks, do not bathe in the nude

Nudity is a state which is fully conducive for subtle Raja-Tama air to enter the body pores. This state creates a sheath of Raja-Tama air in the environment. Since the expulsion of waste gases through the reproductive organs or anal opening is hastened with the momentum of the Raja-Tama-predominant waves from the atmosphere, the distressing vibrations from Patal (Hell region) that come here with great velocity pollute the body with Raja-Tama-predominant waves. A bath in such circumstances is not of much use. On the other hand, if we bathe with under-clothes on, the pressure on the hip girdle activates the Manipur-chakra and destroys the waste gases internally in the voids. Besides, since the Manipur-chakra is activated, the body becomes sensitive to imbibing the sattvik waves from the bath. The individual benefits from this and the bath becomes an auspicious act for it. – A Scholar (Through the medium of Ms. Anjali Gadgil, 25th December 2007, 8 p.m.)

3. Sit in a cross-legged posture while bathing

A. Underlying science

By bathing in a standing position, the water flowing from the body along with the dirt on it strikes the ground and activates seats of black energy in it. So, black fountains from the ground strike the body and make it Raja-Tama-predominant. Hence, while bathing, we should sit in a cross-legged posture. – A Scholar (Through the medium of Mrs. Anjali Gadgil, 29th October 2007, 9.46 a.m.)

B. Benefits

1. When sitting in a cross-legged posture, the body shape becomes triangular, thus it becoming possible for a protective sheath to be easily generated during a bath.

2. By bathing sitting in a cross-legged posture, the covering around the body is in contact with the outer covering of the trishanku of the Brahmand (Universe). Hence, the individual gets more Chaitanya (Divine consciousness) and the black covering around its body disintegrates.

3. In this posture the Sushumna-nadi is also activated to a certain extent. Hence, the Chaitanya that is imbibed through a bath is retained in the body for a longer period.

– A Knowledgeable One (Through the medium of Mr. Nishad Deshmukh, 6th May 2008, 7.47 p.m.)

Note 1 – Divine vibrations are emitted in a conical shape. When sitting in a cross-legged posture, the individual harmonizes with the Divine waves and is able to absorb them to a greater extent.

4. Bathe from head to toe

A. Underlying science

A bath from head to toe cleanses the covering of black energy around the body by its disintegration from the nucleus of the Sahasrar-chakra

The nucleus of the covering of black energy around the body lies in the Sahasrar-chakra or the Brahmarandhra. A bath from head to toe causes rapid disintegration of the covering on the body of the individual from its nucleus. – A Knowledgeable One (Through the medium of Mr. Nishad Deshmukh, 19th June 2007, 3.51 p.m.)

B. Spiritual experience

As suggested by God, with a head bath, the black energy surrounding the ears left the body in the form of a foul odour

On the morning of 20th October 2007, after waking up I felt as if my ears had been plugged and covered. Though I did not wish to have a head bath, I felt God telling me to do so; hence, I complied and subsequently felt foul odour emanating from my hair. After the bath, I realized that the black energy enveloping my ears had vanished. God only had suggested a solution to this, for which I felt immense gratitude towards Him. – A lady-seeker, Panvel, Maharashtra

C. Amidst chanting of shlokas, using a brass tumbler, pour water over the head

1. Underlying science : With the awakening of the Brahmarandhra, within a short period Chaitanya spreads all over the body

With the help of a brass tumbler, which is rajasik, take out water from the vessel amidst chanting of various shlokas, thus making the water sattvik. Then pour this water over the head. This will activate the Brahmarandhra and within a short period, the Chaitanya will spread all over the body.

2. Characteristics of copper and brass

For storage of water, the sattvik copper metal is suitable; while for taking out water from it and hastening the process, the rajasik brass tumbler is appropriate. It is remarkable that the Hindu Dharma has used substances based on their inherent properties.

– A Scholar (Through the medium of Mrs. Anjali Gadgil, 29th October 2007, 9.46 a.m.)

5. Clean the openings of the body

‘The nine openings in the body – the ears, the eyes, the nostrils, the mouth, the anus and the urethra, should be cleaned every morning when bathing.’ – Dakshasmruti

Underlying science

The Raja-Tama-predominant waves emanating from the nine openings in the body merge with the water, and sattvik waves from the water enter the body

Since the Raja-Tama-predominant waves leave the nine orifices in the body and go into the atmosphere with high velocity; these orifices have to be cleaned with water. These waves mix with the water, because of which the body gets cleansed and can receive sattvik waves through the same orifices. That is why, every morning while bathing, with the help of the surrounding sattvik atmosphere, clean these orifices. – A Scholar (Through the medium of Mrs. Anjali Gadgil, 25th December 2007, 8.28 p.m.)

    • Namaskar,

We do not wash hair everyday. When we do not wash hair, we should comb hair first and then take bath.

When we wash our hair, tie it’s ends after bath.
