This medicine pacifies Vata and Kapha. Although its usage is mentioned here, the treatment may differ according to the physical constitution, region, season and other ailments. Hence, take the medicine under the advice of a qualified doctor.

 

Indications Method of taking the medicine Duration
A. Low blood pressure, low body temperature and feeling extremely cold Lick 2 pinches of pippali churna mixed in 1 spoon of ginger juice As per the need
B. Cough, breathlessness, phlegm in the chest, no taste, no hunger, indigestion and gas in the stomach Lick 2 pinches of pippali churna mixed in ½ spoon of ghee and 1 spoon honey 2-3 times-a-day 5 to 7 days
C. Constipation Take 2 pinches of pippali churna mixed with 1 spoon of triphala churna in ½ bowl of warm water on empty stomach in the morning 5 to 7 days
D. Chronic fever Take 2 pinches of pippali churna mixed in 1 spoon of honey 3 times-a-day. 7 days
E. ‘Vardhamana Pippali Rasayana’ useful in hypothyroid, disorders of the respiratory tract, fibroids in the uterus, ovarian cyst, etc. Boil 1 bowl of milk with 1/2 gram pippali churna (1/8th spoon) and add 1 spoon of ghee to it. Drink this mixture at sunrise. After this, do not eat / drink anything for an hour. Increase only the quantity of churna by 1/2 gram every day and from 9th day, reduce the quantity of churna by 1/2 gram daily. Do not consume pippali churna for more than 8 consecutive days except in the treatment as mentioned above. 15 days

2. Note

A. For children in the age group of 3-7 years & 8-14 years, the dosage should be ¼ and ½ respectively of that specified above.

B. In case of diabetes, the powder should be taken with water or it can be chewed alone instead of taking it in honey.

C. Having symptoms of heat such as inability to bear hot substance, stomatitis, burning body, urinary infection, rashes on the body, giddiness, etc. And during season of heat and autumn (October heat) coming after monsoons – either avoid or reduce the use of pippali.

D. Due to the use of pippali, if symptoms of heat are noticed, stop consuming pippali and drink lemon sharbat (lemonade) twice-a-day for 1-2 days.

 

3. For better efficacy of powder

Avoid consuming eatables made from maida (refined wheat flour) and besan (Gram-flour) and avoid eating sour, salty, too oily or pungent preparations; Ice-cream, molasses, curds, paneer, cheese; stale-food, eating at an inappropriate time and in excess; going out in the Sun, staying awake at night.
