Helping and supporting people in adverse times like the Coronavirus pandemic is also ‘Samashti Sadhana’

Article also available in :

The Coronavirus outbreak is unlikely to subside soon. All the concerned factions like government, administration, medical field etc. are trying their best to reduce the outrage of Corona. People are scared and socially affected on a large scale. Few are taking extreme steps like committing suicide. Coronavirus is the only topic discussed on various TV channels, in newspapers, whatsapp messages, conversations with neighbours etc. and it is creating more fright amongst the masses. Today, people badly need support.

1. Realizing the need to extend
love and support to frightened people

When a person is affected by Coronavirus, his family members or relatives get worried. It is observed in such cases that there is a need to give mental support to the patient that, ‘He would soon get better; God is with him. He should chant God’s name and be assured that we will provide assistance to him whenever required.’ Anyone can give mental support in this manner not only to Corona patients but also to people who fear the pandemic. If various constituents of society extend help in this manner, God will definitely like it and it will attribute to ‘samashti sadhana’ (Performing spiritual practice for the benefit of society).’

2. Doctors, advocates, teachers, businessmen
and priests can undertake efforts to provide support to the people!

A doctor is like God for patients. Today there are various doctors treating patients with the help of different therapies. Even if they are not directly associated with the Corona treatment, they can offer such service. These doctors can give psychological support to the patients regularly visiting them or to the people in their neighbourhood. Similar efforts can be undertaken by the advocates for their clients, other advocates and people known to them. Teachers can provide support to their associate teachers and students while holding online classes. Temple priests or trustees can hold meetings for devotees visiting temples or through their personal contacts. Businessmen can help their workers.

3. People extending help to others
as their social obligation or helping without
expectations are performing ‘samashti sadhana’ through such efforts

Today, this is the duty of every citizen and not just of a particular group in society. There are many social organisations that are active in our society. They can also render such service with the view that God has given them this opportunity for performing social service. If the service is rendered without any expectations, it will be their spiritual practice. They will get joy out of selflessly helping people and it will also help in increasing people’s faith in God and spirituality.

4. Support rendered by Sanatan Sanstha !

Sanatan Sanstha has published in ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’, the auto-suggestions to be taken by the people for gaining mental strength. Sanatan Sanstha organizes online lectures on various topics like ‘Need of spiritual practice for stress-free life’, ‘Need for performing spiritual practice in adverse times’ etc. People can avail benefits by attending these lectures.

I offer these words, which were suggested to me by ‘Paratpar Guru’ Doctor (referring to Paratpar Guru Dr Athavale), at His holy feet with gratitude and surrender.
