Sanatan Sanstha celebrates ‘Guru Purnima Mahotsav’ at 81 venues across India in a spiritually uplifting atmosphere

Mumbai: Guru Purnima is the sacred occasion to express gratitude to the Guru and to reaffirm one’s resolve to serve the Guru. Throughout history, whenever the Nation and Dharma have faced grave challenges, it has been the revered Guru-disciple tradition that has upheld and restored Dharma. Guru Purnima is therefore an occasion to remember and honour this eternal spiritual lineage.

At present, the repercussions of the recent conflict between the United States and Iran are being felt across the world. India, too, continues to face natural calamities, external threats, and an ever-growing succession of new challenges. In such troubled times, the eternal Guru-disciple tradition-one of Bharat’s most unique and enduring gifts to humanity has already shown the path forward. To convey this timeless guidance to society, Sanatan Sanstha celebrated this year’s Guru Purnima Mahotsav under the theme, “A festival that illuminates the path towards the establishment of Ram Rajya.”

The Mahotsav was held on Wednesday, 29 July, at 81 venues across India. As part of the celebrations, participants collectively took a resolve for the establishment of Ram Rajya and offered namajapa (chanting of God’s name).

Throughout the programme, seekers and spiritual aspirants experienced the divine consciousness (Chaitanya) of the Guru principle and were moved by the grace of the Guru.

Ramnathi (Goa): As mentioned in the Nadi manuscripts by the Maharshis, Shrisatshakti (Mrs.) Binda Singbal, one of the Spiritual Heirs of Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Jayant Athavale, performed His traditional aukshan on the sacred occasion of Guru Purnima.

During the ceremony, Shri. Amar Joshi of the Sanatan Veda Pathshala recited Vedic mantras, adding to the sanctity and spiritual solemnity of the occasion.

The celebrations

Sanatan Sanstha’s Gurupurnima Mahotsav commenced with Shri Vyas Pujan, followed by the worship of the image of Sant Bhaktaraj Maharaj (Guru Pujan). This was followed by the reading of messages from Saints and the sharing of spiritual experiences by seekers.

At several venues, individuals dedicated to the protection of Dharma and committed to the cause of Hindutva were felicitated. Eminent dignitaries known for their patriotism and steadfast commitment to Dharma then addressed the gathering.

A documentary highlighting the work of Sanatan Sanstha and its Founder, Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Jayant Balaji Athavale, was screened. The audience was also guided on “The Struggle and the Path Towards the Establishment of Ram Rajya (the Hindu Rashtra).” The Mahotsav concluded with demonstrations of simple self-defence techniques.

Book exhibitions covering a wide range of spiritual subjects, along with informative displays on issues concerning the Nation and Dharma, were also organised. These exhibitions received an enthusiastic response from visitors.

The speakers emphasised that humanity today faces an increasingly unstable and alarming future, marked by the looming threat of a Third World War, rising inflation, unemployment, relentless competition, and the widespread despair these conditions have created. In such circumstances, material solutions alone are no longer sufficient to rescue society.

Today’s directionless world urgently needs Ram Rajya, founded upon the righteous ideals of Bhagwan Shri Ram. However, such an ideal society cannot be established merely through political or material efforts. It requires a strong spiritual foundation rooted in Sadhana (spiritual practice) and unwavering surrender at the Guru’s Holy Feet. Only when society’s spiritual faith is reflected in righteous governance does the true dawn of Ram Rajya begin, the speakers explained.

On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Sanatan Sanstha also organised an Online Guru Purnima Mahotsav in Marathi, Hindi, English, Gujarati, and Malayalam. Thousands of seekers and devotees from India and abroad participated and benefited from the programme.

Books and eBooks released at Guru Purnima Mahotsavs across India

Several new publications were released during the Guru Purnima Mahotsavs held across the country.

In Maharashtra, the Marathi book “Guidance to Dharma Sevaks by Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Jayant Balaji Athavale” was released at Dadar, Kolhapur, Jalgaon, Ratnagiri, and Pune.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Hindi book “Sadhana ke Maulik Drishtikon” was released in Lucknow, while “Balakon ki Prakriti Samajhkar Unhe Sudridh Banayen” was released in Varanasi. In Katras, Jharkhand, the Hindi book “Balakon Par Susanskar Kaise Kare?” was also released.

In addition, 24 eBooks in Marathi and Kannada were released during the celebrations. The Marathi titles included subjects such as Personality Defect Removal and Personality Development, The Guru’s Conduct, Mission and the Guru Tradition, Prayer, The Scripturally Correct Method of Performing Arati, The Correct Method of Offering Namaskar, and The Shrine Room and Articles Used in Worship. The Kannada releases included titles such as The Path Towards the Establishment of the Hindu Rashtra and Personality Defect Removal and Personality Development, among others.
