Facebook doesn’t find absconding terrorist Zakir Naik dangerous, but Sanatan Sanstha which propagates Spirituality ! – Chetan Rajhans, Spokesperson, Sanatan Sanstha

Mr Chetan Rajhans

In the recently held conference in America on ‘Dismantling Global Hindutva’, a lot of muck was thrown on Hindu Dharma, and attempts were made to connect ‘Hindutva’ with terrorism. It is a conspiracy to counter the growing influence of ‘Hindutva’ in America. As a result, social media like Facebook tried to brand a spiritual organisation like Sanatan Sanstha as a threat when Facebook has allowed more than 50 accounts of Dr Zakir Naik who has been accused by India as a jihadi terrorist and a threat to India. Facebook doesn’t consider him as dangerous which is proof of the anti-Hindu stand of Facebook.

Only in the last week, Frances Haugen, Facebook’s former data scientist had stated in the American Parliament that Facebook was dangerous for small children and democracy. Even earlier Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg was called to the American Parliament and asked for an explanation on the accusations against Facebook of keeping a watch on people and leaking their personal information; therefore, Sanatan is not at all bothered about who is in the secret, confidential list of a company like Facebook which itself is a threat to democracy. Sanatan Sanstha challenges Facebook to show a single objectionable or socially harmful post by Sanatan Sanstha. Sanatan Sanstha is an organisation which propagates spirituality by adhering to the Indian Constitution and laws. Indian Government has also time and again clarified that there was no such proposal to impose a ban on Sanatan despite such demands from opposition parties’ demand.

It is a systematic ploy of defaming ‘Hindutva’ in America through false propaganda. Before 2014 when the honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he was banned from visiting America. In the CIA’s list of 2018, Bajarang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) were classified as militant religious organisations. Now, the addition of Sanatan Sanstha to Facebook’s list is proof that Sanatan Sanstha has been very effectively propagating Hindu Dharma. An organisation like ‘Popular Front of India (PFI)’ which is accused of carrying out terrorist activities in India and its 42 associated organisations are not considered as dangerous by Facebook, but Telangana’s BJP-MLA Rajasingh Thakur; ‘Sudarshan’ channel which openly promote ‘Hindu ideology’, and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti which is working for the establishment of Hindu Rashtra are branded as dangerous by Facebook, which is most condemnable and discriminating.
