Failure of CBI or consequences of defective investigation by NCP ! – Sanatan Sanstha

Display of complete lack of faith in democracy by
Dabholkar family that otherwise preaches the values of democracy !

While the NCP leaders, who have lost face after the Supreme Court has directed CBI to take charge of the investigation from Mumbai Police in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, are now making statements targeting CBI, Sanatan Sanstha is still facing the consequences of a faulty investigation carried out by their own Home Ministry in the Dabholkar murder case. In 2013, after Dr Dabholkar was murdered, the state investigating agencies under the guidance of NCP leader and then Home Minister R R Patil, arrested two assailants – Manish Nagori and Vikas Khandelwal. They even submitted a ‘Forensic Report’ in the court claiming evidence that Dr Dabholkar’s murder was carried out using the weapons seized from the two gunmen’s possession. Thereafter, the Dabholkar family, disappointed with the course of the investigation, filed a petition in High Court asking for the investigation to be handed over to CBI. The CBI then took over the reins of the investigation which is still on under the supervision of the honourable court. Despite this, if the Dabholkar family and the NCP leaders are accusing CBI for its failure, it is their own failure indeed ! And if one has to discuss the failure of CBI, then it raises several doubts over the investigations carried out under the tenure of R R Patil. If the Forensic Report proves the two gunmen guilty, how then did they get a clean chit ? Neither the Dabholkar family nor the then State government is saying anything about this, said Shri Chetan Rajhans, National Spokesperson, Sanatan Sanstha.

When Dr Dabholkar was murdered in 2013, during the tenure of Congress-NCP, the Dabholkar family made misleading statements. Over the course of time, the investigation then went to CBI; the ruling party changed too. Several devout Hindus went through an unnecessary series of arrests in the matter. Nothing was achieved through this; as a result, the Dabholkar family kept making noise. Currently, the grand alliance of Shivsena-NCP-Congress is in power, yet questions are being raised on the investigation and the government. If there’s anything that has become explicitly clear through this chain of events, it is that, regardless of the political party in power, regardless of the investigation agency, instead of wanting to find out the real killers of Dr. Dabholkar, the Dabholkar family is making hue and cry because the ones that they want to declare as the killers, have not yet been arrested. This then begs the question – does the Dabholkar family that otherwise preaches about the principles of democracy, have any faith whatsoever in the democratic process ? Now that nothing has been achieved despite the attempts of every investigating agencies in the country, will the Dabholkar family now demand for the case to be handed over to foreign investigating agencies such as FBI or Scotland Yard?
