Spiritual Experiences
Spirituality is a science in which knowledge is attained through spiritual practice and the spiritual experiences (anubhutis) resulting thereof. An experience beyond the five senses, mind and intellect is known as a spiritual experience.
Receiving disability pension easily as a result of spiritual practice after trying for a few months in vain
One week I had to wait two hours to submit papers for my disability pay. Usually in these situations, I would become frustrated and nervous. This time, I chanted* throughout the two hours, and thus did not realize how the hours passed. After several months of appeal for a disability pension and no success in receiving it, on that very day everything got resolved. I was surprised and realized how powerful the Guru principle is.

[As this seeker realized, chanting and remembering God’s Name is enough to ensure His grace and remove even our everyday obstacles.

Provision for water during a long train journey after returning from satsang
On the day of Gurupurnima, after spending about 24 hours with three other seekers, I had to go back to work at around six a.m. At first I was a bit mad at myself for forgetting food and water, as it is a long trip and I was hungry. At the train station waiting for the train, I was chanting. As I entered the train compartment, I noticed that somebody had left a bottle of water right in front of me. It wasn’t much, but it served its purpose perfectly. I thanked God and was laughing to myself, realising that there is nothing She (Mother Mary) cannot do. (This seeker is Catholic and chants 'Hail Mary'.)
- A Seeker.
[From this experience we can see that for whatever small steps we take towards reaching God, for example satsang, He takes many more towards us, alleviating any distress or obstacle that may present itself on our journey towards Him.

*If one is not currently doing any spiritual practice, or to complement one's current spiritual practice, one can begin with the simple, but powerful spiritual practice of chanting or constantly remembering God's Name according to one's religion. Chanting also acts as a useful complement to any spiritual path one may be already following. It is a practice recommended for the current times by Holy texts and Saints of all religions.
-
Seekers in the initial stages of spiritual practice (less than one year) can repeat The Name of the Lord as per their religion (refer to Issue 3 Clarification of Doubts section for details).
-
Seekers who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over a year or so can determine the appropriate chant for them from the experiment given in Issue 124, Message to Seekers section.
