** Quick relief can be obtained by seeking help from a sorcerer (mantrik) or a spiritual advisor, who resolves worldly problems (bhagat). However, there is a possibility of recurrence. Comparatively, if deities like Hanuman, Kali, etc., are worshipped, then though the recovery is slow, it is permanent, since spiritual practice augments the worshipper's energy. If the problem is mild, it should be overcome with spiritual practice alone. However, if it is severe, along with continued spiritual practice, the help of a sorcerer should also be sought.
One must have also realized from the above table why hundreds of Names of deities are mentioned in the Sanatan religion (Dharma). Formerly, physicians would also practice as veterinarians and thus, treat both man and animal. Later, they branched out into physicians and veterinarians. As the medical science advanced, specialists in various branches emerged. Similarly, since the Sanatan religion is highly evolved, it recommends spiritual practice of different deities for different problems.
Possession: If an individual is behaving as if possessed and emits pleasant vibrations, one may conclude that a deity is manifesting itself. If, however, he emits distressing vibrations, it is probably possession by negative energy. And if he emits only mildly distressing or no such vibrations, one may infer that the individual is a psychiatric patient. The spiritual level of an average person is 20% while that of one who has attained the Final Liberation (Moksha) is 100%. A person with a spiritual level of 20% is unable to perceive subtle frequencies. He is able to do so only after his spiritual level rises above 35% with regular spiritual practice.
Addictions: In most addicts, the addiction is due to possession by the spirit of an addict. Hence, doctors are unable to cure 80-90% of addicts while saints can do so by driving away the spirits from them.
For example, a possessed lady used to get intense bouts of itching of the body between the hours of midnight and two a.m. She would scratch herself till she bled. Even after treatment from a dermatologist for four years she showed no recovery. However, she was cured within three months of doing spiritual practice.
Black magic: Given below are some examples of problems arising from negative energy preventing propagation of a family (nirvansha shakti), finally destroying it.
1. A man lost his 23-year-old daughter in an accident. The wedding engagement of his 29-year-old elder son broke off thrice and that of his 27-year-old son broke off twice. All this occurred within a span of six months.
2. Seven brothers and two sisters of a youth committed suicide.
Subtle bodies of ancestors: Phenomena such as inability to arrange a marriage, marital disharmony, inability to conceive, abortions, birth of deformed children or a row of daughters, etc., are seen in such cases.
Distress due to planets: Astrology describes what problems can occur on account of planets such as Saturn (Shani), Mars (Mangal), etc. However, according to the Path of Action, (Karmayoga) planets by themselves do not cause any problem. When one will experience happiness and unhappiness is decided by destiny. Planets merely signify a clock recording life events. This is their only significance.

* If one is not currently doing any spiritual practice, or to complement one's current spiritual practice, one can begin with the simple, but powerful spiritual practice of chanting or constantly remembering God's Name according to one's religion. Chanting also acts as a useful complement to any spiritual path one may be already following. It is a practice recommended for the current times by Holy texts and Saints of all religions.
-
Seekers in the initial stages of spiritual practice (less than one year) can repeat The Name of the Lord as per their religion (refer to Issue 3 Clarification of Doubts section for details).
-
Seekers who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over a year or so can determine the appropriate chant for them from the experiment given in Issue 124, Message to Seekers section.
