Spirituality is a science in which knowledge is attained through spiritual practice and the spiritual experiences (anubhutis) resulting thereof. An experience beyond the five senses, mind and intellect is known as a spiritual experience.

Premonitions about floods in July 2005

Dear Readers,

The following spiritual experiences are premonitions had by Miss Kalyani Gangan of Miraj ashram, India, prior to the calamitous floods that struck the Indian state of Maharashtra in July of 2005.

The cause of the floods being the increase in unrighteousness was thus told by the Deity of water (Jaladevta)

In July of 2005 I visited my residence in Lanja a district in Ratnagiri (India). During my visit, suddenly one day I saw the deity of water, or Jaladevta, in the ocean. She was having a conversation with another deity. Jaladevta was saying, "Due to the increase in unrighteousness, we will have to create floods."

Wishes to have floods coming to mind and realizing that the thought wasn't mine but of God.

I had a thought that this monsoon season, there will be floods and then thought ‘Let there be floods’. Then I immediately realized that this wasn't my thought. This is the thought of God. Then again, I thought since unrighteousness is on the rise, let there be floods. I mentally narrated all my thoughts to His Holiness (H.H.) Dr. Jayant Athavale and then completely forgot about them.

God (Ishwar) told me that the floods will last longer and Koyna dam will break and at that same moment thinking that H.H. Dr Athavale will reduce the intensity of the floods and prevent the dam from breaking

After returning from Lanja to the ashram, I felt that something is going to happen on a large scale. When I heard the news that water entered Devad ashram (in India), I then understood that these were the floods I had seen. At that time, God told me that the floods will last longer and cause Koyna dam to break due to overflow. I thought even though these floods will be on a large scale, H.H. Dr. Athavale will control the intensity of floods and prevent Koyna dam from breaking. After reading the Sanatan organization’s Marathi language newspaper, the Dainik, I came to know about the information given by 'A vidwan (scholar)' that H.H Dr. Athavale had, in fact, reduced the intensity of the floods.

On July 25, 2005, when I came to know about the rising water level in Devad ashram, I went to the altar room to pray. I closed my eyes to pray. Rays from Lord Krishna's eyes entered my eyes. The rays increased my vital energy (pranshakti). Then Lord Krishna told me, ”Seekers should understand the importance of spiritual practice, society should realize the mistakes that were made during the immersion of Lord Ganesh (during Ganesh Chathurthi) and be punished for it, and people should notice the increasing unrighteousness in society and so I have made the decision to cause floods. Thus, I have caused these floods and even more and greater floods will be caused later."

*If one is not currently doing any spiritual practice, or to complement one's current spiritual practice, one can begin with the simple, but powerful spiritual practice of chanting or constantly remembering God's Name according to one's religion. Chanting also acts as a useful complement to any spiritual path one may be already following. It is a practice recommended for the current times by Holy texts and Saints of all religions.

Seekers in the initial stages of spiritual practice (less than one year) can repeat The Name of the Lord as per their religion (refer to Issue 3 Clarification of Doubts section for details).
Seekers who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over a year or so can determine the appropriate chant for them from the experiment given in Issue 124, Message to Seekers section.
