Change in attitude regarding the spiritual practice of doing service

In the past, when I would be doing the service (satseva) of proofreading the Sanatan organization’s English Weekly Online, I would feel frustrated about the grammatical errors in the articles. Sometimes, I would even wish that the seekers writing those articles wouldn’t make such mistakes. However, one week, as I was doing the proofreading, I was overcome with gratitude to the Guru and all the other seekers for the mistakes, as I realized that if it were not for the grammatical errors in the Weekly Online, I would never have the opportunity for this particular service to the mission of the Guru!

- A seeker (U.S.A.)

[Gratitude is a key component on the spiritual path. Many times we see only the negative side of a situation, very rarely the positive, let alone are grateful for it. Yet, when we do develop gratitude for even the seemingly negative side of things, this is when we come closer to God and experience spiritual growth.
