In 2000, New York saw a huge
trend towards bracelets with “power” beads that are supposed to bring
benefits like money, strength, love, etc., to the wearer. According to news reports, “power
beads” were originally marketed in 1999 by Zoe Metro, a New York designer,
and were soon copied by numerous others. Metro developed these bracelets after
seeing the Dalai Lama wearing beaded bracelets.
Thinking that merely wearing special beads would assist one to enter a higher
realm of inner well-being is a misconception. Applying the basic principles of
Spirituality helps uncover this fallacy. According to the science of Spirituality,
the acquisition of money, strength, love, etc., is 65% dependant on our destiny and 35% on our wilful actions. If we really want all these achievements, what
we must focus on is our destiny and wilful action. The easiest way to influence
our destiny and wilful actions in a positive way is by regular spiritual
practice.
For the present times, chanting*, or repeating the Name of the Lord according
to the religion we are born into, is the most simple spiritual practice. |
