Spiritual awareness at the time of first meeting with spiritual guide

    A seeker described to me his experience of our chance meeting in February of 2000. We were meeting after almost two years. The experience is as follows: As he was walking on the street around the city square, on his way to work, I was coming from the opposite direction. At the moment we saw each other, he felt as if all the people around us started walking in slow motion. Then, everything disappeared and all he could see was my figure in front of him. For those few moments, he had no awareness of time and place. After that, all returned to normal. He felt very peaceful and knew he needed to talk to me. When we met later that day he was introduced to the spiritual practice of chanting* The Lord’s Name according to his religion.
