| The fact that more and more
educated youth are turning to religion indicates that Spirituality has passed
the test of time. It also means that they have realized that worldly pursuits
do not result in the supreme everlasting happiness known as Bliss.
That Mr. Yaconelli initiated a movement to
encourage youth to not only study but actually implement and experience firsthand
what they studied is critical. Merely studying Spirituality and not implementing
is akin to the scholar, who, when he heard his boat was sinking, realized that
he would drown as he had only ever read about swimming. Similarly, it is essential
to couple one’s intellectual
study of Spirituality with that of practical study, so that one can experience
God firsthand. |
