Messages to Seekers
For the week ending June 11, 2005
Messages to Seekers
Seekers who are making efforts to acquire Guru’s grace,
keep in mind that Gurupurnima is only seven weeks away

Guru is there because of your faith. The significance/importance of Guru lies in your faith in Him. Guru also relies on you for your faith in Him. Guru exists in your faith.

Find sponsors for Gurupurnima celebrations expenses

Find sponsors for the expenses related to booking a hall, electrical appliances (e.g., lighting, sound system), ‘prasad’, (holy sacrament), material required for the puja (ritualistic worship), etc.

On the occasion of Gurupurnima (GP), seekers should
contact people who have not responded favorably in the past

The Sanatan organization’s activities have been carried out for a number of years. Seekers have tried to propagate our mission to most of the people in certain cities and towns/villages. Seekers have also come into contact with these people in connection with organizing various programs/ ceremonies. Some of them have joined our movement and actively participated in the activities, whereas some have neither shown curiosity to learn about our activities, nor have they responded favorably.

Presently, seekers are visiting various places to collect advertisements and donations for the occasion of GP celebrations. While doing this, seekers have found that in some districts, there has been positive response from those people who earlier behaved indifferently. In view of the above, rather than avoiding them, seekers should also approach people who have previously not responded positively to the organization’s activities/mission. Times are changing and so are people’s views. Some people are coming forward to help good (sat) work and some are also starting spiritual practice. Of course, seekers should avoid approaching people known to be defectors of religion/righteousness like members of the Committee for Removal of Blind-faith, Communists, etc.

Without having any misgivings, young seekers should
do the allotted satseva not as workers, but like Guru’s servants

It was observed in a number of meetings conducted for young seekers in various districts, that the young seekers had complaints of their being used in the Gurupurnima celebrations or other programs of the Sanatan organization. Due to this misgiving, some young seekers are drifting away from spiritual practice. Seekers lacking in serving attitude and obedience cannot progress spiritually and the organization does not need seekers who lack such seekership qualities.

In Spirituality, no seva (service) is superior or inferior. The attitude with which the seva is done is important. We have to strive to be Guru’s servants rather than just workers. With this outlook, without any qualms, young seekers should do seva sincerely.

Only seekers with seekership qualities get the benefit
of the divine consciousness emerging from Saints

Seekers should note that only those with seekership qualities are benefited from the divine consciousness of saints, and not each and every seeker across the board.

Try to distribute the books published by the Sanatan
organization to seekers following other sects/conventions

While spreading our mission, seekers come in contact with seekers from other sects or seekers following other paths of spiritual practice. These seekers from other sects also visit our ashrams and centers. Although they might be following different paths to grow spiritually, every path gives equal importance to increasing spiritual emotion (bhav) and reducing ego. It is observed that they like our books on ‘Spiritual Practice for Increasing Spiritual Emotion’ and ‘Removal of Ego’. Therefore, seekers from other sects and followers of other paths, may be briefed about our books and efforts made to sell our books to them.

Register your demand for impending publications

Given below is a list of books and booklets being published by the Sanatan organization in the near future. Initially, these books will be published in Marathi, Hindi and English. Increase chanting* and prayers on the full and
new moon days, as well as two days before and after

The distressing energy trouble is more severe on the full and new moon days. The trouble also starts two days prior to such days and exists even two days after. Seekers should therefore do maximum chanting and prayers on these five days.

*If one is not currently doing any spiritual practice, or to complement one's current spiritual practice, one can begin with the simple, but powerful spiritual practice of chanting or constantly remembering God's Name according to one's religion. Chanting also acts as a useful complement to any spiritual path one may be already following. It is a practice recommended for the current times by Holy texts and Saints of all religions.

  • Seekers in the initial stages of spiritual practice (less than one year) can repeat The Name of the Lord as per their religion (refer to Issue 3 Clarification of Doubts section for details).

  • Seekers who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over a year or so can determine the appropriate chant for them from the experiment given in Issue 124, Message to Seekers section.
