Correct attitude when donating something

‘He who uses his wealth for the welfare of my feeble devotee, I emancipate him, ahead of the devotee.’

- Shri Eknathi Bhagavat.

Implied meaning:

When fulfilling the worldly needs of a (financially) weak devotee, one should maintain the attitude (spiritual emotion) that, “Who am I to take care of this devotee’s needs, when The Lord Himself takes care of my needs, beyond my own expectations. Is The Lord not capable of caring for this devotee? The interesting part is that The Lord takes care of His devotee, making me an instrument. Thus, like the proverbial ‘killing of two birds with one stone’, along with His devotee’s upliftment, He provides me an opportunity to be uplifted.”

- His Holiness Kane Maharaj, Narayangaon, India.
