Messages to Seekers
For the week ending June 4, 2005
Messages to Seekers
Take review of only those seekers who are following the
process of removal of Personality Defects (PDs) sincerely

It was observed that only 7-8 % of seekers were making sincere efforts and earnestly following the prescribed procedure for removal of PDs when recently reviews were taken in various districts. Only such seekers who are making sincere efforts for removal of PDs may be allowed to participate in the PD removal satsang and their efforts reviewed. Some seekers feel that their PDs should be eliminated, but until there is action on their part, such thoughts have no meaning. Therefore, until such seekers actually take action in this regard, attention need not be paid to them.

If the ‘tithi’ (date per the Hindu lunar calendar) of the birthday is divided over two days, celebrate the birthday on the ‘tithi’ (day) that includes the sunrise
  • If the ‘tithi’ of the birthday is divided over two days: The ‘tithi’ of birthday sometimes gets divided over two days, per the English calendar. For example, if a birthday, according to the Hindu lunar calendar, falls on the fourth day in the month of Vaishakh, this tithi could start from 6.00 p.m. on one day and end at 5.00 p.m. on the next day, per the English calendar. Therefore, sometimes there could be confusion as to what day the birthday should be celebrated on. In such cases, it is beneficial to celebrate on the day which includes a sunrise. In the above example, it will be beneficial to celebrate the birthday on the second day.

  • In case the ‘tithi’ does not include a sunrise: In case the ‘tithi’ does not include a sunrise, for example, a tithi starts at 8.00 a.m. after sunrise on one day and ends at 5.00 a.m. before sunrise on the next day, the birthday may be celebrated on the day that tithi is continuing for the whole day (in this example, on the first day).

  • How to check the details about tithi in a calendar: In the calendars, tithi existing at the time of sunrise is generally given. The birthday may be celebrated as per the tithi. The tithis starting and ending on the same day are generally indicated one after another. For example, on May 21, 2005, the tithis are indicated as Vaishakh Shuddha (first fortnight) 12/13 (on May 22, tithi is shown as 14). This shows that there is omission of the 13 tithi, so if the tithi of birthday is 13, the same may be celebrated on May 21.

Give the following books on the occasions
of wedding ceremony, vaastu-shanti etc.

It has been noticed that while attending various ceremonies like wedding, vaastu-shanti etc. seekers are presenting our book titled ‘Why Rreligion Says So?’ (which explains the science behind performing various rituals and rites). When giving the Sanatan organization’s books at such functions, give priority to giving our books entitled ‘Social Upliftment, National Security and Rekindling Righteousness’ and second priority may be given to ‘Holy Festivals, Religious Festivals and Vowed Religious Observances’ or ‘Sixteen Sanskars and Some Other Rituals’ etc.
