“One can experience various spiritual and
health benefits just by attending a course on yoga.”

Nowadays, we see many people turning to Spirituality for a better quality of life. It is indeed heartening. However, many people begin and end their spiritual pursuit with attending some (often expensive!) short-term courses on spiritual practice such as Pranayam, Yogasanas, Meditation, etc. However, such attempts do not yield much benefit without understanding the underlying spiritual principles, that is, without a study of the science of Spirituality. Just performing the physical actions like the yogic asanas, for the period of the course duration, without following up with consistent practice hardly makes a difference, as many of the course attendees find out.

Spiritual practice does not always yield instant and dramatic results. Spirituality, being a science of actual practice and experience, and an art or way of living, has to be practiced in day-to-day life. However, many lack the patience and perseverance needed for such an endeavor. In today's fast paced world, one tends to seek instant results even in Spirituality. Not only does it get one anywhere in terms experiencing spiritual benefits, but also it makes one vulnerable to the lure of expensive courses on spiritual practice.

It is little wonder then that today, there are many such course offerings, befitting the general impatience and spiritual ignorance of society. Worse still, some unscrupulous elements make money under the pretext of Spirituality, through such expensive ‘Yoga' or ‘Pranayam' classes. At one such ‘Pranayam' center, there was a choice of eighteen separate courses of pranayam for improving health, concentration, personality, etc. The names of the eighteen courses were printed in the pamphlet merely to attract people. In reality, the same pranayam was taught in all 18 workshops!
