Comparison of the science of Spirituality with sciences of the mind

    The relationship of the science of Spirituality and various other sciences is shown in the context of the mind in the table below. It uses the example of the various methods used to treat a patient with high blood pressure (B. P.) caused by anxiety.

*** According to the science of Spirituality, the mind comprises of the conscious mind (of which one is aware) and the sub-conscious mind (that is beyond one’s conscious awareness). The conscious mind comprises about 10% of the mind, whereas the sub-conscious mind comprises about 90% of the mind. That is why, any change in one’s habits or attitudes has to be effected in the sub-conscious mind. Change at the conscious mind level, such as New Year’s resolution to quit smoking or start exercising, does not last.

**** Though the treatment completely cures the disease, the percentage of people getting cured is very small, as most people leave the spiritual practice half way.
