Spiritual experience of a child seeker

Getting an unexpected, quick and safe ride home after attending Children’s moral workshop

From my school friends, I had heard about the Children’s moral workshops (Children’s satsangs) held by the Sanatan organization. So I, too, really wanted to attend them. Once when we visited our native town, Patna, we came to know that there was a weekly satsang conducted by the Sanatan organization there. Immediately I went to attend it. The satsang was from 6.30 to 7.30 in the evening. However, I happened to reach early. So while waiting for the satsang to start, I swept the floor of the satsang place, tidied up the place and also got a chance to read the Sanatan organization’s spiritual newspaper.

After the satsang was over, the satsang conductor was worried about how a young girl like me would go home alone. So he accompanied me to the bus stop, to see me off safely on the bus. As we were waiting at the stop, the first car that drove by happened to be my cousin’s car. I got a lift safely back home. This incident increased my faith in God. It made me realize that if we want to do spiritual practice like regularly attending satsangs, God helps us and removes all obstacles from it.

- Ms. Yogita Ghadge, (Student of 9th grade), India.
[Dear friends, Yogita’s experience shows us how God helps us if we want to get close to Him by doing spiritual practice. All we have to do is want to be close to God and want to do spiritual practice, which is the effort to get close to Him. To begin with, we can start chanting* God’s Name and praying to Him daily.
- Editor.]
* Chanting means constantly remembering or repeating God’s Name according to our religion. Young children should also chant 'Om Gan Ganapataye namaha' (Lord Ganesh's chant) for at least 15-30 minutes daily for divine protection. Older children, who have been doing spiritual practice for some time, can determine their exact chant from the experiment in Issue 124, Message to Seekers section. Parents should repeat (chant) The Lord's Name for children too young to do so themselves.
