Principles of Spirituality for Faster Progress
Spiritual science, like any other science, is based on some basic principles. When our spiritual practice is done in accordance with these principles, our progress is assured. In this section, an attempt is made to suggest practical applications of various spiritual principles and facts.
All ways lead to God

The fundamental spiritual principle is that "there are as many temperaments and corresponding paths of Spirituality as there are people." This means that just as people differ in their physical and psychological make up, they also differ in their spiritual constitution, and the proportion of the three subtle components, five cosmic elements (panchmahabhutas), Destiny and willful action.

When patients go to a physician, the doctor diagnoses their ailments, and prescribes the medicine as per each patient's ailment and physical constitution. Similarly, the spiritual practice that one does should be specific to one's spiritual constitution. Consequently, the spiritual path for every individual differs. That is why there are so many a path to God.

However, how does one know one's spiritual constitution? Only a spiritually evolved person can answer that question and prescribe what would be best suited for each individual's spiritual growth. For an average person, to distinguish between a spiritually evolved person and a fake is very difficult, because spiritual evolution is an extremely subtle process and is not necessarily reflected in external factors like appearance, behavior, speech.

One can go with the God-given provision of following the ways to worship God as per one's family or religion's norms of worship, to avoid any confusion regarding one’s spiritual constitution. Each individual is born into a family and religion, whose divine principle of worship is the most needed for one's further spiritual progress. Thus, one would experience rapid spiritual growth by pursuing the path of spiritual practice* most suited to one's spiritual constitution.

* A spiritual practice that is in particular suitable to one's specific spiritual constitution is chanting or constantly remembering God's Name according to one's religion. Chanting also acts as a useful complement to any spiritual path one may be already following. It is a practice recommended for the current times by Holy texts and Saints of all religions.
