Practical Application
of the Principles of Spirituality
Spiritual science, like any other science, is based on some basic principles. When our spiritual practice is done in accordance with these principles, our progress is assured. In this section, an attempt is made to suggest practical applications of various spiritual principles and facts.
The (spiritual) Guru: the best teacher

One of the attributes of a Guru is appreciating the disciple. A Guru expresses appreciation for His disciple on and off either in words or by endowing him with spiritual experiences. Once a disciple narrating his spiritual experience of a vision of his Guru, said, ‘Raising me and holding my face in His hands Gurudev (respectful way of addressing one’s Guru) looked at me and fondly kissed both my cheeks.’

Practical Application

This is an example of why the Guru, Who never fails to appreciate His disciple, is considered to be the best teacher. Since one’s spiritual experiences are indicative of the Guru’s appreciation, the seeker, who is steadily progressing to higher level spiritual experiences, should continue with his spiritual practice with faith about his progress and the correctness of his spiritual practice.
