Saints' Quotes

“Those, who lack the courage to take
charge of life, believe in Destiny (karma).”

Generally, people who believe in effort and are ignorant about the science of Spirituality, express such views. According to them, acknowledging Destiny as a factor in one’s life events is escaping from effort in bringing the events to a favorable resolution.

This misconception is clarified if one understands the principles of Spirituality. According to the science of Spirituality:

  • On the average today, 65% of life events are caused by Destiny, that is, by events beyond one’s willful control. Most major events, such as birth, death and marriage occur as per one’s Destiny.

  • About 80% of problems in life, including recurring failure in one’s projects, despite sincere gross effort, are caused partly or purely by spiritual factors, including Destiny. Hence, spiritual solutions are needed to overcome the obstruction caused by spiritual factors.

Just as no amount of vitamin B can overcome one’s deficiency in vitamin A, no amount of effort at the gross level can overcome problems that are spiritual in nature. Recognizing the presence of spiritual factors, such as Destiny, is the first step towards remedying them correctly and truly taking charge of one’s life. Thus, acknowledging the influence of spiritual factors beyond gross control, such as Destiny does not necessarily mean passivity, but a conscious effort at taking proper charge of one's life.
