| Messages to Seekers |
For the week ending March 19, 2005 |
|
Increase chanting* and prayers on the
full moon and new moon days
|
The trouble from distressing
energies is more severe on the full moon and new moon days. Seekers should therefore
do the maximum amount of chanting and prayers possible on these two days.
|
|
Give more time for Personality Defects
removal satsang instead of Bhav-satsang |
Shri
Durgadevi had advised to start bhav-satsangs for evoking spiritual emotion
in seekers. As per Her guidance, we have been conducting and attending bhav-satsangs
so far. This gave direction to seekers for awakening their spiritual emotion
and also helped them increase it. The main obstacles in evoking spiritual emotion
are our personality defects (PDs). In order for our efforts towards awakening
spiritual emotion to meet with success, it is necessary to seriously follow the
process of removal of PDs. We are therefore going to stop the bhav-satsangs and
give more time to removal of PDs and propagation of Spirituality. Therefore,
stop the bhav-satsangs and increase the frequency of satsangs for removal of
PDs. |

Seekers, fight the distressing energies!
|
In case of severe trouble from
distressing energies disturbing sleep, rather than getting bewildered, fight
against them. Seekers should make sincere prayers, chant the Name in destroyer
form and make use of sattvik (spiritually pure) articles. For example, seekers
can wear the Sanatan organization’s apron, keep the strips with the pictures
of the seven deities or books published by the Sanatan organization around oneself. |
|
Take review only of those seekers who
take
the process of removal of personality defects seriously
|
It has been noticed that despite
repeated instructions, some seekers in do not follow the procedure of removal
of PDs seriously. This includes not writing the PD chart regularly and not completing
five autosuggestion sessions daily.
Earlier, as seekers were unable to comprehend the process of removal of PDs,
the process and importance of its implementation was explained to them, help
was also extended to them for solving their difficulties in its implementation.
Despite this, in the case of seekers who are not writing the PD removal chart
regularly, review of their progress should not be taken. While taking a review,
such seekers may be asked to keep away or may be sent out for doing some satseva.
These seekers may not be asked anything about their efforts for removal of PDs,
as not everyone wants to attain God in this lifetime. Those who are not following
the process of removal of PDs sincerely may be left alone. Just as there are
only few brilliant students in a school, so is the case with seekers. Only a
few seekers obey the Guru and try to make progress. These seekers may be taken
along. |
|
Do not miss attending the aarti
(ritual
of waving lit oil/ghee/camphor lamps)!
|
The divine consciousness (chaitanya)
that one acquires at the time of aarti is equal to three hours of chanting with
spiritual emotion (bhavpurna). One should therefore not avoid attending aarti
sessions. One who has severe distressing energy problems, and even the seekers
who are unconscious, should be taken for aarti, as it helps to effectively reduce
the problems within short span of time.

*If one is not currently doing any spiritual practice, or to complement one's
current spiritual practice, one can begin with the simple, but powerful spiritual
practice of chanting or constantly remembering God's Name according to one's
religion. Chanting also acts as a useful complement to any spiritual path one
may be already following. It is a practice recommended for the current times
by Holy texts and Saints of all religions.
-
Seekers in the initial stages of spiritual practice (less than one year) can
repeat The Name of the Lord as per their religion (refer to Issue 3 Clarification
of Doubts section for details).
-
Seekers who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over a year or
so can determine the appropriate chant for them from the experiment given in
Issue 124, Message
to Seekers section.
