Messages to Seekers
Seekers, make a proper decision for
the collective cause in a given situation

Some seekers would whisper among themselves during the course of the satseva center meetings, in a district in India. One lady-seeker felt that this should not happen in a meeting. However, she felt that this thought of hers was making her extroverted so she kept quiet and did not take any steps to prevent it. In such situations, we have to use our discretion and make the decision most appropriate for the collective cause (samashti).

While giving information to people on our volume ‘Why does religion say so?’, also furnish information about other volumes published by the Sanatan organization, which give guidance for spiritual progress

Today, Hindus have ceased to get religious education and so their inclination to lead a religious life has declined. If a person knows the science behind a religious act he is performing, he understands its importance pretty well, which in turn strengthens his faith in the act. He performs the ritual with utmost faith and reverence. The Sanatan organization has published two volumes of books “Why does religion say so?” – Volume 1A and Volume 1B (in Marathi). The book explains the ritual of worship of God, religious and social acts, and the science behind them. In order to allow society to get more and more benefit out of scientific actions, Sanatan seekers are giving wide publicity to the above volumes in society. If any act is performed in the proper scientific manner, society is benefited by way of people following religious principles.

However, the main goal of mankind is to attain Bliss, i.e., to attain the Lord, and to achieve it, it is imperative that he undertakes spiritual practice. So while displaying the above volumes to the people, seekers should also show them other volumes of the Sanatan organization’s publications, like ‘Introduction to Science of Spirituality’, etc., so that they would not get entrapped in merely performing dry rituals, but would strive for speedy spiritual progress along with following the religious principles in their day-to-day life.

*If one is not currently doing any spiritual practice, or to complement one's current spiritual practice, one can begin with the simple, but powerful spiritual practice of chanting or constantly remembering God's Name according to one's religion. Chanting also acts as a useful complement to any spiritual path one may be already following. It is a practice recommended for the current times by Holy texts and Saints of all religions.

  • Seekers in the initial stages of spiritual practice (less than one year) can repeat The Name of the Lord as per their religion (refer to Issue 3 Clarification of Doubts section for details).

  • Seekers who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over a year or so can determine the appropriate chant for them from the experiment given in Issue 124, Message to Seekers section.
