Spiritual insight about the importance of the divine grace of the Guru Principle

A few weeks ago, Sahadev, a regular seeker in the Melbourne satsang, had this spiritual realization regarding the Guru Principle. He could relate the analogy of the modem and Internet to the Guru and God. The modem converts analog signals to digital, by which the Internet is accessed on our computers. Though the Internet signal waves are around us, we cannot access it without a modem. Sahadev felt that similarly, God is Omnipresent, yet we can only experience Him through the Guru Principle, which gives us Spiritual knowledge of God’s Omnipresence.

No tiredness despite laborious work and experience of increased spiritual purity after chanting* and listening to devotional hymns

While painting my room recently, I was chanting intensely and listening to the audio tapes of His Holiness Bhaktaraj Maharaj’s devotional hymns (bhajans). As I continued painting in this manner, I could perceive an increase in my energy and at the end of the day, the room felt spiritually pure. Due to this spiritual benefit, though I had painted through out the day, I did not experience any tiredness at the end of that day.

- A Seeker.
[Devotional hymns sung by Saints contain 100% divine consciousness compared to ordinary songs, due to the Saints’ immense devotion and spiritual purity. Hence, such hymns emanate divine or spiritually pure vibrations and can be played regularly to create a spiritually pure environment, conducive to one’s spiritual practice. Further, this experience also shows the power of chanting in imparting much needed energy in day to day life.

* If one is not currently doing any spiritual practice, or to complement one’s current spiritual practice, one can begin with the simple, but powerful spiritual practice of chanting or constantly remembering God's Name according to one's religion. Chanting also acts as a useful complement to any spiritual path one may be already following. It is a practice recommended for the current times by Holy texts and Saints of all religions.

  • Seekers in the initial stages of spiritual practice (less than one year) can repeat The Name of the Lord as per their religion (refer to Issue 3 Clarification of Doubts section for details).

  • Seekers who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over a year or so can determine the appropriate chant for them from the experiment given in Issue 124, Message to Seekers section.
