Need For Spirituality
Spirituality and success in the glamor world

Former Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen has said in an interview that she strongly believes in God, His Omnipresence and His existence in every human being. She mentioned that she acknowledges the existence of God, because His power makes those things happen that defy logic. She attributed her success at the Miss Universe contest to God’s blessings. In her own words, “If ever there was a time when I felt really close to God, it was during the final round of the Miss Universe contest. I remember as I answered the question, I could hear only myself speak. During those moments, I felt God was right next to me, seeing me through.”

The former Miss Universe attributing her victory to her belief in God is a shining example of the importance of Spirituality in bringing about one’s worldly as well as spiritual success. It is noteworthy that in one of the most public and worldly moments of her life, she felt closest to God. Worldly efforts complemented by divine grace are a guarantee to success. It is a reminder to include God in all one’s activities*.

The simple yet powerful spiritual practice of chanting** helps one to include God in all one’s activities. Spiritual practice not only paves the way to experience Bliss, but according to the science of Spirituality, also ensures success in one’s endeavors, most of which are influenced by spiritual factors.

* Refer to the Practical Guidance section of this Issue for practical tips on how to include God in daily activities to make them Blissful.

** Refer to Issue 23, Clarification of Doubts section for details about the mechanism of the mind and that of chanting (repeating God’s Name). If one is not currently doing any spiritual practice, one can begin with the simple, but powerful spiritual practice of chanting or constantly remembering God's Name according to one's religion.

  • Seekers in the initial stages of spiritual practice (less than one year) can repeat The Name of the Lord as per their religion (refer to Issue 3 Clarification of Doubts section for details).

  • Seekers who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over a year or so can determine the appropriate chant for them from the experiment given in Issue 124, Message to Seekers section.
