On January 25, 2004, on the
occasion of Shri Ganesh Jayanti, a seeker and myself had put up a book
exhibition at Haripur, in Sangli District (Maharashtra), India on the
premises of the Lord Ganesh temple. A lady was staring angrily at the
exhibition from a distance. After a while, she approached us angrily,
demanding the removal of the exhibition.
I tried to pacify her, since I feared that the bookstalls would collapse
from all the jostling by the crowds. She, however, paid no heed and continued
shouting loudly. People gathered and suddenly I realized that the lady
was troubled by a distressing energy, which opposed the setting up of
the exhibition. After some time, I saw a big man in her. To ward off
an attack by distressing energies on the exhibition, I prayed to Sri Durgadevi
saying, “Let us seekers and the exhibition be protected and let
the distressing energies be destroyed.” The lady returned again
saying, “If you do not move the exhibition, I shall move it” and
started pulling the tables. I got furious with the distressing energy
in her and thought, “How dare the distressing energy bring obstacles
in my Guru’s mission of establishing Righteousness?” I removed
her hand from the books and sternly warned her to stop touching the books.
Hearing this, she was unable to look at me and she turned to quarrel with
another seeker. Meanwhile, I continued to chant Sri Durgadevi’s
Name in my mind.
Suddenly, a person whisked her away. After she
had calmed down, she was unable to justify her behavior. |
