Distressing energies strive to bring evil into society, whereas seekers (who have obtained subtle purity (sattvikta) from spiritual practice) strive for society’s progress towards God, leading to its all-round progress (that is, the establishment of the Divine kingdom). Even distressing energies worship Divine Energy (Shakti) for establishing an evil reign. However, since seekers are linked to Righteousness (Dharma), while distressing energies to unrighteousness, seekers always win!
