The significance of the Sanatan’s Gurukrupayoga logo
Question: What is the significance of the Guru-disciple logo of the Sanatan organization?
- A seeker, Theosophical Society, Melbourne.

Dear Seeker,

The Guru-Disciple relationship is a sacred relationship and is purely spiritual in nature. It is explained through the following diagram.

The meaning of the Guru-disciple logo
The diagram depicts the disciple paying obeisance at his Guru’s feet by resting his forehead at his Guru’s feet.
God functions in various principles. The teaching principle of God is known as Guru principle.
The pose is symbolic of the disciple surrendering his mind, body and intellect at the service of his Teacher, the Guru, Who is one with God.
By surrendering his body, mind and intellect at his Guru’s feet, the disciple effectively surrenders his ego to God and thereby is able to lose his own identity and merge with God.
The feet of the disciple are turned in to enable him to quickly get up to be at his Guru’s service (satseva).

The Guru-disciple logo is thus a representation of the path of Guru’s grace (Gurukrupayoga), which is advocated by the Sanatan organization.
