Remembering to pray to deity of the vehicle after expressing sincere desire to do so to H.H. Dr. Athavale

Initially, when I would try to follow the guidance of praying to the deity of vehicle before traveling, I would forget about it very often. Then one day mentally I expressed my sincere wish to H.H. Dr. Athavale that I wanted to remember to pray to the deity every time I entered the vehicle. Since then every time I step into a vehicle, I started remembering to pray. If at anytime I forget to do so, I experience that the deity of the vehicle Himself reminds me in one way or another.

[As observed above, when one has a sincere wish to implement guidance, and one expresses it to God or Guru, one is immediately graced by The Lord / Guru.

Intense prayer and surrender results in qualitative improvement in chanting*

In Sanskrut, Thursday is called ‘Guruvar’. ‘Guru’ means The Guru and ‘Var’ means day. So Thursday means the Guru’s day. One Thursday I became intensely aware of this and I prayed intensely to the Guru principle to let everything happen as per His wish. I experienced that my chanting went on smoothly without any disturbance through out the day. I also felt a lot of spiritual emotion during the collective chanting session. Since I live with four other students, it is difficult for me to chant with concentration, but ever since that day, I have found that my chanting has improved qualitatively.

[The above spiritual experience is an example of how one can benefit from the divine grace of God/Guru when one prays sincerely and completely surrenders to Him.

*Constant remembrance or repetition of The Lord’s Name. When done mentally, it can be done anywhere and anytime, as it does not need purity of body, time or place. However, in the initial stages it is recommended that one start by sitting in one place for at least half an hour daily and repeat (chant) The Name of one’s Kuldevata or per their religion (refer to Issue 3, Clarification of Doubts section for details on what Name to repeat according to one’s religion.) Those in the advanced stages and who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over one year are advised to determine The Name appropriate for them from the experiment given in Issue 124, Messages to Seekers section.
