Actions/efforts to awaken spiritual emotion in an individual

(Continued from Issue 223)

To awaken spiritual emotion, initially one needs to make constant efforts at the level of the mind and intellect. In the last Issue 223, we saw some examples of spiritual experiences after expressing gratitude with spiritual emotion. In this Issue we will see one more example.

Spiritual experience after expression of gratitude with spiritual emotion

Experiencing gratitude towards seekers and perceiving that I was offering the guidance at their feet:

On October 24, 2002, I was scheduled to guide seekers from Sangli district, India. I offered salutation unto the Guru before looking at the audience. At that moment, I experienced an inner feeling of gratitude towards the seekers. There was a lump in my throat. I was speechless. I was overwhelmed with the thought that I had been given the opportunity to serve the Guru principle because of them. Thereafter throughout the discourse, I experienced the feeling that I was offering the guidance at their feet. Ever since then, even during casual conversations with seekers, I become aware that I am serving Him.

- Dr. (Mrs.) Nandini Durgesh Samant, Phonda ashram, Goa, India.

In the next Issue, we will discuss about chanting (repeating) the Name of The Lord and its role in awakening spiritual emotion.
