Feeling the presence of deities during the 7-Name* subtle experiment**

Recently, I was performing the 7-Name subtle experiment to determine the chant that is most appropriate to overcome distressing energy obstruction in my spiritual practice currently. While doing the experiment, I was looking at the picture of each deity when repeating Their chant. During the experiment it felt as though Lord Rama and Lord Shiva were alive in Their pictures. It felt as if They were in front of me and getting the experiment done from me. I felt much gratitude to The Lord for this experience.

[The subtle experiment* conducted by the Sanatan organization’s seekers to determine their chant has the resolve (sankalpa) of H. H. Dr. Jayant Athavale. Hence, when this subtle experiment is done with faith, besides yielding the most appropriate chant for one, it can impart spiritual experiences like the above.

* Seekers in the advanced stages of spiritual practice can refer to Issue 124, Message to Seekers section to determine the chant appropriate for them using this experiment.

** Refer to the section ‘Experiments of the Subtle Dimension’ of any Issue of the Sanatan Weekly Online for details on subtle experiments and how to perform them.

Receiving email with further guidance on spiritual practice, after sincere prayer unto H. H. Dr. Jayant Athavale

A few weeks ago, I was feeling depressed, as my spiritual practice of chanting* for 5 hours daily was not happening consistently in spite of the awareness that it has to be done. Also, my husband and I were finding it difficult to settle down in this city, as we had migrated recently. Life was a struggle from the time we arrived. Although it was no reason for me to not chant satisfactorily, chanting was simply not happening.

Since I was feeling very low, I bowed in front of the photograph of H. H. Dr. Athavale and asked Him to forgive me for not doing spiritual practice as per His expectation, and begged for guidance.

The very next day, I got an e-mail from a seeker. The email was about "what to think before chanting." The moment I looked at the e-mail, I had a feeling that H. H. Dr. Athavale had answered my prayers. After reading the e-mail, I was filled with joy and the realization that He is always with us. I felt very fortunate to get His guidance. That email turned me around entirely and filled me with a lot of motivation to complete the daily spiritual practice under any circumstances.

- Mrs. Rishita Gadoya, Toronto, Canada.
[As observed above, when one prays sincerely for help and guidance to do their spiritual practice, one is immediately graced by The Lord. The next step would be to pray as sincerely and with such surrender in daily spiritual practice, even when it is going well, and not only when we feel helpless.

*Constant remembrance or repetition of The Lord’s Name. When done mentally, it can be done anywhere and anytime, as it does not need purity of body, time or place. However, in the initial stages it is recommended that one start by sitting in one place for at least half an hour daily and repeat (chant) The Name of one’s Kuldevata or per their religion (refer to Issue 3, Clarification of Doubts section for details on what Name to repeat according to one’s religion.) Those in the advanced stages and who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over one year are advised to determine The Name appropriate for them from the experiment given in Issue 124, Messages to Seekers section.
