Messages to Seekers
Messages for Seekers
For week ending March 20, 2004
Per Sri Durgadevi’s guidance, seekers are advised
to do special repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name as follows:

Perform the collective repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name as told by Sri Durgadevi for three hours for the following days in the following manner. (Audio recording of these chants can be downloaded from the Sanatan’s website - click here.)

Those seekers who have been prescribed to complete five hours or more of repeating (chanting) of The Lord’s Name every day, should treat the above three hours of collective chanting as a part of their five hours total. The remaining two hours they should do their individual chanting. Those seekers who have been prescribed to complete two hours or less of repeating (chanting) of The Lord’s Name every day should only do the repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name as guided above by Sri Durgadevi.

The following prayer should be said while doing the special repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name, “Let me (here state your name) get the power of the Mantrajap (special repetition as advised by Sri Durgadevi). Let the obstacles in the way of establishment of Divine Kingdom be removed and let my spiritual progress occur”. This prayer is to be said after 12 repetitions (chants) of The Lord’s Name with respect to ‘three after three’ (that is, 2 sets of the combined, 3+3 repetitions; e.g. for Gudhipadva) and after 10 repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name, with respect to ‘one after the other’ of a single deity’s chant.

Seekers who are responsible for overseeing collective spiritual practice in the Sanatan should prepare a plan for 100% of seekers to do the special repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name as advised by
Sri Durga Devi

With the aim that the special repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name as advised by Sri Durgadevi should be done by 100% of seekers, those seekers responsible for overseeing collective spiritual practice, should plan for these occasions of special repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name. Every seeker has to complete three hours of the special repetitions (chanting) as advised by Sri Durgadevi.

Those seekers responsible for overseeing collective spiritual practice should make efforts to convince other seekers to the best of their ability, with the intense desire that 100% of seekers should complete the special repetition (chanting) as advised by Sri Durgadevi. It is expected to make efforts to achieve 100% results, not mere planning of seekers and their repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name. Hence, responsible seekers should make efforts towards this end.

Make a plan to achieve three hours target of the collective chanting

The above Names, as advised by Sri Durgadevi, are to be repeated (chanted) collectively for three hours. While performing the collective chanting, it is common that we either speak to someone or get up for water, bathroom, etc. In this process, at least five minutes are wasted. Sri Durgadevi does not take into account this wasted time. Hence, even if the collective chanting falls short by five minutes, Sri Durgadevi does not consider it as done. Hence, seekers should collectively chant for extra time to make up for each of such breaks during the chanting session.

Similarly, though we perform repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name for three hours as per the clock, there is no guarantee that the collective chanting will occur with spiritual emotion (bhav) for all the three hours. Hence, one should consider planning to do each collective chanting session for an additional 15 minutes. One need not sit for three hours at a stretch to do the collective chanting. The three hours of collective chanting can be completed during the course of the whole day.

On the above-mentioned days, seekers should give top priority to the special collective chanting, realizing that it is one’s spiritual practice
to complete it
Sri Durgadevi tells us to perform the special repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name every month or on some occasions/ religious festivals in keeping with the times, for us to gain more spiritual energy from repeating (chanting) The Lord’s Name for less time. It is not possible for all people at all times to increase their spiritual strength by doing repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name in keeping with the present times. Thus, Sri Durgadevi by telling us to do such special repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name is giving us the strength. We have to derive benefit of that strength just by doing collective chanting full of spiritual emotion for the particular days (on which such special repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name are prescribed) and for a particular period of time.

Instead of us reaching Sri Durgadevi with intense devotion, Sri Durgadevi Herself is coming to us and helping us. This, of course, does not mean that we should always remain at this level. We, on our part, have to obey every word of Sri Durgadevi, and thus, obtain her eternal grace and blessings, and reach Her. Noting this, seekers should realize that ‘I must positively complete my collective chanting on the above days and completing it is itself my spiritual practice and accord top priority to the special collective chanting. On those days, nothing else should be given priority over the collective chanting.
Special repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name must be
done with spiritual emotion in order to obtain Eternal Grace
and Blessings of deities

Seekers are lacking the spiritual energy required in the present times. Hence, Sri Durgadevi is telling us to repeat (chant) The Lord’s Name like the above, thereby showing that Her Grace and Blessings on us. One should utilize one’s wilful action (Kriyaman) to maximum possible extent to keep the Grace and Blessings of deities eternally active on oneself. Hence, the seekers should see to it that the repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name becomes full of spiritual emotion.

Maintain the following spiritual emotion to make the repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name replete with spiritual emotion

At other times, we do not necessarily follow or obey everything that Sri Durgadevi tells us. In spite of this, Sri Durgadevi tells us to do the special collective chanting that consists of Her divine energy and blessings. Repetaing (chanting) God’s Namr with the continual gratitude that ‘Sri Durgadevi has advised this repetition (chanting) of God’s Name for my welfare’ will help the repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name occur with spiritual emotion.

Sri Durgadevi (through Sage Rama) has said that 60% of seekers did the special repetition (chanting*)of The Lord’s Name that She had advised for February 25, 2004

On February 25, 2004, on the occasion of the Manifestation Day of Sri Durgadevi, She had told seekers to repeat (chant) the following Names of God:

1. ‘Om namah Shivay’ and ‘Om Sri Durgadevyai namah’ alternately from 7 to 8 a.m.
2. ‘Om Gan Ganapataye namah’ and ‘Om namo Bhagavate Vaasudevaya’ three times each alternately from 3 to 4 p.m.
3. ‘Om Sri Durgadevyai namah’ and ‘Om Hum Hanumate namah’ alternately from 9 to 10 p.m.

Sri Durgadevi has told through Sage Ram Rushi that 60% of seekers did the above collective chanting.

Let us express our gratitude to Sri Durga Devi and pray

Seekers could complete the above special repetition (chanting) of God’s Name on February 25, 2004 only due to the strength provided by Sri Durgadevi, and Her grace and blessings. Let us express gratitude at Her Holy Feet. Were it not for Her grace and blessings, it would not be possible for seekers to complete the special repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name. Not a single activity in Spirituality is possible without the grace and blessings of the Guru or deities. To seek this grace and blessings constantly, let us pray to Sri Durgadevi as follows:

“O Devi, whatever actions are necessary for getting a continuous flow of your Grace and Blessings, please get them done from us from time to time and in a proper manner. We pray at Your Holy Feet to endow us with a ceaseless flow of your Grace and Blessings.”

Immediately inform the satsang conductor about the efforts
taken to increase spiritual emotion through the bhav satsang

In the Sanatan, at all places bhav satsangs are conducted, as advised by Sri Durgadevi. In the Sanatan’s Marathi publication, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat, the topics for the bhav satsang are published every Sunday. If any seeker is taking topics other than the ones published in Dainik, they should inform about such topics at the below address.

Please write the subject as ‘Topics/Matter for Bhav Satsangs’ when sending the matter. We will publish the topics that are suitable for all seekers in Dainik and Saptahik. In these topics/matter, the efforts made (at an action level) for awakening spiritual emotion, spiritual experiences and new prayers should also be included.

* Constant remembrance or repetition of The Lord's Name. Seekers in the initial stages of spiritual practice (less than one year) are advised to repeat The Name of the Lord as per their religion (refer to Issue 3, Clarification of Doubts section for details). Those seekers who have been doing regular spiritual practice for over one year are advised to determine The Name appropriate for them from the experiment given in Issue 124, Message to Seekers section.
