Chant* for a couple of minutes
to achieve some concentration of the mind. Then stop chanting and
look at the following boxes and note your perception. The details
of how to assess one’s subtle perception of an object can
be seen in the italicized text above or by clicking on this section’s
heading.

* Constant remembrance or repetition of The Lord's Name. Seekers in
the initial stages of spiritual practice (less than one year) are
advised to repeat The Name of the Lord as per their religion (refer
to Issue 3,
Clarification of Doubts section for details). Those seekers who
have been doing regular spiritual practice for over one year are
advised to determine The Name appropriate for them from the experiment
given in Issue 124,
Message to Seekers section.
Answer to the last week's experiment (Issue 215):
The first link 'A' was the repetition
(chanting) of Sri
Durgadevi’s Name in a tune to invoke Her
tarak (Savior of devotees) form, while the second link 'B' was
repetition (chanting)
of Her Name in a tune to invoke Her marak (Destroyer of evil) form.
The energy one experiences while repeating Sri Durgadevi’s
Name in a tune to invoke Her marak form can at times be distressing
as a repercussion of the fact that it hurts any distressing energies
inside or around us. Hence, one may experience a lot of energy,
heat, headache, nausea, etc., while listening to or chanting as
per the second link.
In contrast, while listening to or chanting as per the first link
of the Savior tune, will usually result in a Blissful feeling,
associated with the Savior of devotees aspect of the deity.
Currently, there is a tremendous rise in distressing
energy obstacles
to spiritual practice and life in general. Hence, it is important
to repeat (chant) The Lord’s Name in the tune to invoke the
Destroyer aspect to gain divine protection, while achieving a balance
with prayers of surrender to invoke the Savior aspect.
