While progress in modern science through
the pills ‘Plan B’ has provided humans a means of
avoiding numerous unwanted abortions, at the same time abuse
of this medicine would justify the worry of the opponents, that
is, irresponsible sexual behavior.
Non-approval of pills ‘Plan B’ would
only act as a gross measure
to curtail irresponsible sexual behavior, but in
no way remove the problem. To successfully remove a problem it
is important to get to the root cause of the problem. Irresponsible
sexual behavior stems from intense sexual desire, which is a deep-rooted
impression in one’s subconscious
mind and a raja-tama predominant
personality. The only way to remove the deep-rooted impression
is by using means that are even more subtle and powerful. Spiritual
practice (sadhana) is such a subtle and powerful tool, which
builds positive impressions on the mind and intellect and develops
divine
qualities that in turn overcome our negative qualities and also
transform the raja-tama predominant personality, thereby making
one
sattvik. Hence,
the root problem of intense sexual desire is removed. |
