Messages to Seekers
For week ending January 17, 2004
Seekers should continue with their prayers
for bhuvlok kshratraveers (warriors)!
n the ongoing war between Sri Durga Devi and bhuvlok warriors (kshatraveer) against the bhuvlok mantriks (practitioners of mantra), we were praying for the bhuvlok warriors. That prayer is to be continued for them as well as for oneself, as follows:

“Let no trouble befall kshtraveers and me (your name) in the ongoing war against sorcerers of bhuvlok and the seventh hell (Saptapatal). Let there be increase in my energy and destruction of the energy of the distressing energies”.

This prayer should be repeated three times, once a day.
Our personality shortcomings or defects are
an invitation to troubles by distressing energies

Due to our personality defects, subtle wounds are formed on our body. The number of wounds will be equal to the number of shortcomings. Bhuvlok mantriks (practitioners of mantra) can easily put bones, skeletons, jewellery, diamonds, beads, etc., subtly in the wounds and transfer black (distressing) energy through them. Thus, these personality defects are an invitation to the distressing energies to enter our body. The wounds made by mantriks (practitioners of mantra) can easily be removed by spiritual measures, but the wounds by personality defects can be removed only by the seeker’s efforts to remove one's personality defects.

To reduce one’s personality defects, seekers should study and read the upcoming guidance in the Sanatan's Weekly Online. Remove your shortcomings in the minimum amount of time by proper planning. Seekers should also make efforts to make up for all the losses in spiritual practice and the smooth functioning of the Sanatan, made by ones mistakes in the our work towards righteousness (Dharma). While doing one's everyday prayers, say the following prayer, “Let me become aware of my personality defects.” Additionally, one should give autosuggestions to remove the defect, per the upcoming guidance in the Weekly Online. If there are any doubts regarding the guidance, the local guiding seeker should be contacted, or contact us at weekly@sanatan.org.

Along with efforts to develop spiritual emotion, seekers should develop their fighting spirit (kshatravrutti) by listening to the kshatrageet (war songs)
In the ongoing war against distressing energies, prayers said with spiritual emotion and repeating (chanting*) The Lord’s Name are a seeker’s main weapons. Seekers are making efforts develop spiritual emotion. However, we cannot fight with the distressing energies with only the savior (tarak) form of spiritual practice as the destroyer (marak) form is also necessary. Thus, in order to awaken fighting spirit, seekers should listen to kshatrageet (war songs) published by the Sanatan at home or in the ashrams at times when repeating (chanting) The Lord’s Name is not occurring. These war songs are written, composed and sung by seekers hence have a lot of divine consciousness (chaitanya) and energy, and will lead to an increase of the same in the surrounding environment. The increased fighting spirit in seekers will also make it difficult for the distressing energies to enter the home or ashram.

Seekers should take care to see that neighbors are not disturbed due to the volume of the songs. The audio tapes are published in three languages, namely, Marathi, Kannada and Hind,i and are available at your nearest Sanatan center or by e-mailing us at sanatan@sanatan.org. The spiritual experiences (anubhutis) related to these songs can be sent to Ku. Rajashri Mamledar, Sukhsagar, Ponda, Goa via post or e-mail at dspgoa@sancharnet.in.
Sri Durga Devi has said that 56% of seekers were able complete the collective chanting on December 15, 2003!
Sri Durga Devi had told us to collectively repeat (chant) ‘Om Sri Durga Devyai Namaha’ on December 15, 2003. This was in addition to the normal five-hour repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name seekers have been advised to do every day, thus making it a total of eight hours of repeating (chanting) The Lord’s Name. Sri Durga Devi has said that 56% of seekers were able to complete the repetition (chanting) as She had advised

Let us express gratitude and pray to Sri Durga Devi for Her blessings!

The repetition (chanting) done by seekers on December 15, 2003 could only happen due to the energy and blessings given by Sri Durgadevi. Let us pay our gratitude at Sri Durgadevi’s feet for these blessings. If She had not given us the energy and blessings, then all seekers would not have been able to do this repetition (chanting) of Her Name. In Spirituality, no act can happen without God’s or Guru’s grace. To obtain it all seekers should pray as below :

‘O Goddess, for obtaining Your blessings and grace constantly, whatever actions are necessary to be performed by us, please get those actions done by us from time to time and appropriately. Your grace and blessings be on us constantly’, this is our prayer at Your feet !
Understand the very importance of repetition of the
Lord’s name and do five hours chanting everyday!
In our quest towards God realization, repetition (chanting) of the Lord’s Name is very important. It is necessary that every seeker do five hours of chanting every day.

All seekers are advised to do their five hour chanting in the following manner: One hour ‘Om Sri Durga Devyai Namaha’; two hours of ‘Om Gan Ganapataye namaha’ (repeated 3 times) followed by ‘Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya’ (repeated 3 times); and two hours of the Name detemined for each individual from the experiment in Issue 124, Messages to Seekers section. Seekers who have intense distressing energy trouble, and have been recommended a special Name or Names to repeat (chant) by subtle department seekers can continue with the special Name or Names for the required time duration.

However, there are some seekers who are not troubled by distressing energies and who do not do their satseva in the proper manner, for example, not listening to others, not putting things back where they belong, not being polite with co-seekers, thinking only about oneself while performing any activity at the physical and mental level, etc. Such seekers should in fact cut down the hours of repeating (chanting) The Lord’s Name and first concentrate on correcting their behavior at the physical and psychological level.

The seekers who carry out activities at the physical and mental level in a correct manner should do the five hours of repeating (chanting) The Lord’s Name everyday for the following reasons:

1. To increase ones spiritual strength to fight against the distressing energy troubles one is facing now or in the future.
2. As a solution for the obstacles from distressing energies.
3. To increase efficiency.

Seekers who do not have any distressing energy trouble feel it is not that it is an absolute necessity to repeat (chant) The Lord’s Name and hence do not pay attention to the advised five hours of daily repeating (chanting) The Lord’s Name. There are some seekers who feel that if they do their satseva in a perfect way, then repeating (chanting) The Lord’s Name becomes an option. For such seekers, point number three applies, and so they should do their five hours repeating (chanting) The Lord’s Name.

In short, the seekers who do not do each activity in the correct manner at the physical and mental level should try to achieve this and then go to the next step of completing their five hours of daily repeating (chanting) The Lord’s Name. As for the seekers who are already doing the advised five hours of daily repeating (chanting) The Lord’s Name, they should persevere in their spiritual practice.

The minimum of repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name
advised for child seekers, according to their age
Age group
Minimum chanting
Under 10 years  1/3 of chanting told to adults*
10 – 15 years  2/3 of chanting told to adults
Above 15 years  As told to adults

* For example, if adults have been advised to repeat (chant) The Lord’s Name for 3 hours, then for a child under 10 years of age, it would be 1 hour.

The repetition (chanting) of The Lord’s Name for children should be done as above whenever Sri Durgadevi advises special days and deity Names to repeat and also at other times.

The child seeker who can do it himself, should do so as it is more beneficial.

Kindly report about so-called seekers
who are including castes in their spiritual discussions

Its is come to notice that some so-called seekers have been discussing the following: ”In Sanatan Sanstha, there are only Brahmins or people of some particular caste. The Brahmins are made in-charges and others are made to do other satseva.” Such discussions are creating doubts in the minds of new seekers leading to them drifting away from spiritual practice.

In reality, there is no such differentiation made between castes, sects or status in the Sanatan. Thus, any so-called seekers who are inserting such caste-related issues should immediately be reported to Dr. Durgesh Samant along with their name and the precise words said by them.

If there are any problems related to the work of the Sanatan or the seekers please write to Shri Durgesh Samant (Address: Sukhsagar, Opp Municipality Garden, Ponda, Goa. Pin 403401, P. Box. 46)
Make use of old aprons, caps and cloth banners
while fighting against distressing energies
In the treatment of the trouble caused by distressing energies, seekers make use of aprons and caps. In case of a distressing energy manifestion in a seeker, seekers roll on the ground, resulting in their aprons and caps getting spoiled. To avoid this, seekers should use old or unused aprons and caps. The Sanatan’s old cloth banners also can be used as bedding for such seekers. The centers with extra aprons, caps and cloth banners can collect the above and forward them to ashrams where seekers are treated for problems due to distressing energy (e.g. Miraj, Ponda (Goa), Devad (Panvel)) as required.

*Repeating or remembering The Lord’s Name according to one’s religion or as determined from the experiment in Issue 124, Messages to Seekers section.
