Gurupaurnima 2002 Preparation

Receiving ideas for Gurupaurnima Special Issue content after chanting* and prayer
Recently, seekers participating in the Sanatan's Weekly Online satseva, were asked for their ideas for the making of the upcoming Gurupaurnima Special Issue. (This year, Gurupaurnima is on July 24.) Several of the seekers noticed that at first, they could not think of any ideas, but upon chanting and praying to the Guru, they found that the ideas just flowed. In their own words:

"When thinking about the ideas for Gurupaurnima Special Issue, I started with a prayer that it should have maximum divine consciousness (chaitanya), so that just by looking at it seekers would get inspired. Instantly I felt very connected to God and got the ideas."
- Mrs. Shilpa Kudtarkar,
The Sanatan's Satsang in Mount Laurel, USA.

"I did not get any ideas at first. So I prayed and chanted, and then got a few."
- Mrs. Jyotsna Ranade.

"I could not think of any ideas for a few minutes. So I prayed that since it is an opportunity to serve the Guru on this special day, instead of me coming up with ideas, He should give the ideas as to how we can serve Him. Immediately after the prayer, ideas started flowing."
- Mrs. Bhavna Shinde, Atlanta, USA,

Everyday in the morning and evening we light a lamp in the altar and perform aarti, reciting the Ramraksha stotra and Maruti stotra for combating the negative energy. One day, as usual we had lit the lamp. Then we discussed ideas for the Gurupaurnima Special Issue for over 2 hours, during which we also introspected on our spiritual practice and progress. Suddenly, we noticed that the lamp was still burning with half the ghee remaining. Usually, the lamp with as much amount of ghee hardly lasts over 20 minutes! We paid obeisance to The Lord for indicating His presence during the discussion about Gurupaurnima ideas. Within 10 minutes, the lamp went off.
- Mr. and Mrs. Dighe,
The Sanatan's center in Brisbane, Australia.
