Preparation for opposing the evil

He said to them, "When I sent you out without a purse, bag, or sandals, did you lack anything?" They said, "No, not a thing." He said to them, "But now, the one who has a purse must take it, and likewise a bag. And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one."

- The Holy Bible, Luke 22.35-36.

Explanation:
The Guru takes away everything, such as the body, mind, wealth, happiness, unhappiness, ego, etc., from the one upon whom He bestows His grace. Actually, this is His way of preparing the disciple for the battle ahead by teaching the disciple to surrender completely.

As one progresses in Spirituality, one is opposed by evil forces (negative energies, evildoers that act as a medium for negative energies, etc.). Hence, to progress further one must destroy the evil. This is one of the last few teachings of Jesus Christ with which He prepares His disciples to undertake the spiritual practice of destroying the evil (Kshatradharma).

- The Sanatan's publication, Science of Spirituality as in The Holy Bible.
