Path of chanting (repeating) The Lord's Name
(Namasankirtanyoga)

(continued from Issue 121)

Special features
The Lord's Name is vaster than the Absolute Ether element (Akashtattva). Absolute Ether is the subtlest of all the five cosmic elements, namely Absolute Ether, Absolute Air, Absolute Fire, Absolute Water, and Absolute Earth. But The Lord's Name is much subtler even than Absolute Ether.
Although The Supreme God (Parameshvar) is unmanifest, His Name is not. Thus, with the power of The Lord's Name, which is manifest, one can indeed achieve oneness with The Supreme God, despite His unmanifest nature. That is, one can experience Bliss (God) through chanting The Lord's Name.
'The Lord's Name itself is the Guru. Devotion unto The Lord's Name is itself the Guru's energy.'- Saint Bhaktaraj.

In Spirituality one's progress is rapid, when one is graced by a (manifest) Guru. Before one is blessed with a manifest Guru, one should consider The Lord's Name that one is chanting as one's Guru and develop intense faith in It. The Name is the unmanifest Guru principle that assists a seeker's progress in the right direction.

Practical Application

The above discussion emphasizes the importance of chanting The Lord's Name with the faith that the Name Itself is one's unmanifest Guru. Regular chanting is also the tool to develop intense faith in the Name that whatever happens, happens for the best and due to the grace of The Lord.
