Finance Minister shown as Lord Krushna
Ranchi - In its Issue dated 1st March 2008, the newspaper 'Hindustan' has shown Mr. P Chidambaram, Finance Minister as Lord Krushna surrounded by farmers in the form of
'Gopis' (It is because of the lifeless and spineless Hindus that just about anyone can make mockery of Hindu Deities. Hindus must wake up and change this situation
- Editor) In another sketch in the same Issue Mr. Chidambaram has been shown as Lord Krushna with his folded hands on the hood of serpent
'Kalia'. The Holy symbol 'Om' and some 'Shlokas' have been ridiculed in the news item on concessions offered to senior citizens and farmers in the budget. New terms like
'Om Krushakaaya Namah' and 'Om Varishtha Nagarikaya Namah' have been coined. Devout Hindus from Jharkhand and Bihar started protest drives against the newspaper in various ways like signature campaigns at Dhanbad, Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur etc. and writing protest letters to the Editor of the newspaper or sending SMS' etc. (Congratulations to the devout Hindus for protesting against such denigration.

Guru-Shishya tradition ridiculed in Hollywood's 'Love Guru'
HJS and SSRF lodge their protests and demand an apology, changing the name of the movie
Washington - 'The Love Guru' is a comedy made by Paramount Pictures. It is set to release on 20th June 2008. The movie has met with much criticism from many quarters for its flippant depiction of the Guru, which only enhances disrespect about the Guru Principle. The producers of the movie have embarked upon a publicity blitz through TV channels and websites. Enraged Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) activists and other
pro-Hindu groups in America have launched a fiery protest against the movie. Ms. Bhavna Shinde Spokesperson of HJS' USA Chapter sent a strong letter of protest to the producer of the movie and demanded cancellation of the promo ads immediately.
Editor of SSRF website, Mr. Sean Clarke also wrote
to the Producers, Director and Distributors of the
movie. Excerpts of his letter are given here:
“I happened to watch the movie trailer and was shocked and saddened that a reputed film studio such as Paramount Pictures would stoop to denigrate the concept of the Guru which is central to various religions. The sanctity of the
Guru-disciple tradition is reflected in Lord Jesus and His disciples, Lord Buddha and His disciples, Lord Krushna and Arjun etc.
The trailer released by Paramount Pictures shows utter disrespect for the deep spiritual significance of the Guru. It shows the Guru in a very poor light and encourages the audience to laugh at the Guru. I could not believe my eyes when the trailer revealed Mike Myers playing a Guru through a whole range of denigrating scenes, some of which are quite lurid such as the Guru wearing a chastity belt, having an erection, bar brawls, accepting money to playing cupid etc. In the trailer you also mention that this is the second best Guru in India. Was this a calculated statement or was this pulled out of some juvenile script writer's repertoire? For a country that has produced revered Saints such as Swami Vivekanand, Ramkrushna Paramhansa and Yogi Arvind, does Paramount Pictures actually believe that your portrayal of a Guru will join the ranks of the most illustrious Saints/Guru's of India?
Has Paramount Pictures given any thought to the cultural repercussions of producing such a movie? The grace of the Guru is the most important factor in realising the basic spiritual purpose of life. How can we work to attain the grace of someone we have disrespect for? Thus we suffer a great loss. This loss is even greater for those in society at an impressionable age, who are swayed by the irresponsible portrayal of a Guru.
I wonder if Paramount Pictures would be so glib in their response to the various protests worldwide if it were to be responding to a religion where violence was the only form of communication. I think such a movie would not have been made in the first place. The Hindu community is a docile community but their docility should not be taken as a sign of weakness but should instead be respected.
SSRF is an Organisation that specialises in spiritual research. Through knowledge that we accessed from the Universal Mind and Intellect, we have published the spiritual repercussions about making a movie such as the
'Love Guru' and also watching it.
At a spiritual level, as per the science of Spirituality when we do good deeds, we earn merits and when we do bad deeds we incur demerits. As an example, let us look at the possible demerits on a scale from 1 to 100 that a person would accrue if he were to murder an average person, a seeker and a Saint. The demerit accrued if an average person is murdered is equal to 30 units, if a seeker is murdered is equal to 60 units, and if a Saint is murdered is equal to 100 units. The table ahead will help us realise the gravity of the demerits earned by the people associated with the movie. Ultimately what they would actually undergo in the afterlife would depend on the sum total of all the merits and demerits in their lives.
In light of the above and in the name of basic common decency, I urge you to consider the following:
1.Change the name of the movie
2.Remove any form of denigration towards the Guru
3.Apologise to the international community

Muslims break Idol of Lord Ramnavami
Raver (Maharashtra) - A mob of fanatic Muslims resorted to heavy stone pelting on the
Ram-navami procession taken out by Hindus here. The Muslims started pelting stones under the pretext that red powder (gulal) was thrown in the air. (That stones that are pelted from the mosques on all Hindu processions makes it clear that the Muslims keep a stock of weapons in the mosque and attack processions in a
pre-planned manner. – Editor) In the riot that followed, the idol of Lord Ram was broken into pieces. The Muslims torched four vehicles on the road. The Hindus tried to retaliate with mild stone throwing. The Police came to know of the riot and Police force was deployed at various places in the town. No action was taken against the rioters by the Police.
(One wonders whether the Police force belongs to Bharat or Pakistan? Hindus should not remain under a wrong impression that the Police will protect them and give them justice! They should get ready for a Dharmakranti! – Editor)
The situation became tense and at least 9 Policemen were injured while trying to rein in the violence. Though no Police complaint was lodged, a 12 hour night curfew was clamped and additional Police force deployed to bring the situation under control.
(The impotent Congress with a penchant for Muslim appease-ment is responsible for the growing audacity of the fanatic Muslims, who dare to disrupt every Hindu festival! How long are the Hindus going to tolerate this arrogance? How many Hindus are prepared to give a fitting reply to the descendants of the
idol-breaking Muslim aggressors? – Editor)
