This holy book is about the spiritual rites (sanskars) that should be performed from the time of conception till marriage at the sixteen major life events, with a view to progressing towards God. The importance of every ritual performed in a rite is explained in detail, e.g., the ritual of giving away the daughter (kanyadan) in the rite of vivaha (marriage). It also includes the rituals of offering ‘oti’, piercing of the ears, etc.
