Festivals of a particular deity are celebrated on the
day when the principle of that particular deity is maximum on earth. For example,
the Ganesh principle is maximum on earth on Ganesh Chathurthi, Guru principle
on Gurupaurnima, Ram principle on Ramnavami, etc. Seekers are advised to take
advantage of the destroyer aspect of Sri Ganesh principle on Ganesh Jayanti by
chanting 6 malas of ‘Om
Gan Ganapataye Namaha’ in the marak (destroyer of evil aspect) tune. While
chanting seekers should say the following prayer: "Shower me constantly
with your blessings and grace. Give me energy/strength to participate in the
mission towards protecting the nation and reinstating divine kingdom."
While chanting, to activate the destroyer (of evil) aspect,
stress on the bold and underlined words as follows: 'Om Gan Ganapataye Namaha'.
By following this tune, the attitude of kshatravrutti
(awakening the fighting spirit) is automatically developed within us. By affixing ‘Om’ before
the chant (japa), the deity’s destroyer aspect gets activated. While chanting
in the marak tune, one should chant in a high-pitched voice and visualize the
deity’s destroyer form.
